Question about Dictaphone foot pedal - JustMe Posted: Jul 2nd, 2015 - 3:29 pm
My current USB 2 foot pedal is acting up and stopping in the middle of my files. I have to reboot my entire computer in order to get it to start working again. It will work for a few minutes and then will stop working again. I have a Dictaphone foot pedal from a prior job and I'm wondering if a Dictaphone foot pedal can take the place of a regular USB 2 foot pedal? If so, I can call my employer and get her to configure it for me. I just want to make sure that I'm not wasting her time before I ask her to do this for me. I plugged the Dictaphone pedal in and it said I had to "configure a port". This is something I know nothing about and I just backed out of it. Does anyone know if a Dictaphone pedal will work for me? My work program is a regular Bytescribe 6.09 wav player. I would like to try to avoid having to buy a new foot pedal if this will work. My foot peda is ONLY 6 months old, which is another rissue all together. Thanks!!
