what is correct format when transcribing pt name: 16 1/2 years, 16.5 years, or sixteen and one-half years? Thanks.
Of course you wouldn't say: "The patient is a 16-1/2 years old female."
You would say either:
"The patient is a 16-1/2-year-old female."
or
"The patient is a female who is 16-1/2 years old."
So yes, if you are saying years old, it will always be 16-1/2. If it is (#)-year-old, then it is going to be hyphenated as above.
