Just FYI....I applied to PF about 3-4 months ago. Took the transcription test, thought I did great, never heard a word.
Today out of the blue, got a call that I had done great on testing and they would like to offer me a position. I said thanks but no thanks since I'm no longer looking for a job.
She told me that they are currently looking for lots of MTs due to opening several new facilities.
Just thought I would pass this along to anyone who is interested in jumping on and taking their test.
Do they hire remote s/m - NJMT

[ In Reply To ..]Remotely. They have transcriptionists all over the country. I can tell you I have been there almost 3 years and never, ever ran out of work. In fact we are so far behind we are on mandatory OT for at least 8 weeks. This is the second time this year we have been on OT, the last time was about 3 months.
It took them awhile to call me too after I tested and I actually forgot about them also but when they called and explained the job I took it and although I am not making what I was making when I worked in a hospital I am pretty darn close to it. I can actually live off my paychecks, pay bills and have some money left over to do things with my grandkids and kids.
With the way this line of work is going and not making money to support yourselves I feel fortunate to have this job. No VR to deal with and with their system VR will not work so it is all straight typing. Pay is better than average and a line is based on 50 characters.

I swear to all that is holy, this is what this less-than-stellar PA just dictated: "The patient IS a high-risk gestational trophoblastic disease..." I went back and listened thinking I must have heard wrong and she said patient HAS ... Nope. She said IS. This is the same PA who dictated a creatinine of 92 for someone. So, this being the most friendly and up-to-date board around regarding MT practices, can I get some opinions about the HIPAA 'privacy rule' and your doctors using patient names in their notes, clinic or otherwise. I am not sure how an HIM department can say to a physician how using a patient name in a transcribed report is not going against the Privacy rule in HIPAA. This kind of stuff just irks me!!!Any comments?? Thanks in advance.... ...
