Sounds like he is saying "piptazone" Trying to combine
piperacillin tazobactam
Anyone heard of this?
piptazone appears to be a Phillipines medication - Des
[ In Reply To ..]In over 15 years, I've never heard of any dictator referring to piperacillin/tazobactam as anything other than Zosyn or maybe pip/taz.
If the dictator is spelling the medication for you and you can't verify it, put it in quotes.
It is possible for pt's to get meds mail-order from other countries. But, if you just think you're hearing "piptazone" and the dictator isn't giving any more info about it, then send to QA or just insert a blank. They (docs, nurses, etc.) can always refer to the medication reconcilliation in the chart for clarification.

Can someone tell me how to change the volume of a dictation using the keyboard? I find that I almost have to change the volume with each dictation - one is too loud and the next one is too soft. I'm sure I must change the volume 20 times a day using my speaker button. Is there any way to do this using the keyboard? Thanks in advance! ...

First off, is "med" an appropriate abbreviation or if I need to expand it. Also, I'm having trouble with a few of the medications she's listing. The first one sounds like Serapril...I know there's Seroquel, and that's a possibility, but it really sounds like she's saying, "pril." Is there anything else that sounds like that?
