Meds: Vitamin B12 12,000 mg **daily** Isn't that an - awful lot? Wondering if weekly

Do you mean mcg? - TH

B12 is relatively safe in large doses. Some people do require a lot daily. The most I have given a patient is 5,000 mcg. I would still question it though..

How To Accurately Transcribe Vitamin D3 5000 Units Daily? Nov 23, 2011Question...I've been looking all over trying to figure out the best way to transcribe number/number combinations with medications on a list of meds where using parentheses doesn't seem to be right. For example:
Vitamin D3 5000 units daily, vitamin B12 500 mg daily, etc.
Is there a way to transcribe this where it doesn't look so number-heavy and the dosage is clearly separate from the vitamin?

OTC Allergy Meds Nov 07, 2009Hi, I'm transcribing a doctor's note that's describing the patient's allergies and how the patient has tried various OTC drugs, including 'pseudometafecin' but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to spell that correctly; I've tried all of the different variations that I can think of (sudometofecin, pseudometaphecin, etc.) and tried looking up 'allergy medications' and coming up with squat. Numbers And Meds Feb 04, 2010
I know we should type the sentence below as:
Advair 250/50 1 puff twice a day but to me, that looks like it could be confusing when the dosage and amount of med are so close together. I know we're not supposed to do it like this but this is what I type instead:
Advair 250/50 one puff twice a day.
Am I committing a horrible crime here?
