? PSYCH: Patient "placed on sundown" - AZMT
Posted: Feb 13, 2010
In psych report, the shrink says that the patient "was placed on sundown in the community." This is VERY clear. I Googled, which yielded nothing. Any ideas?
chances are they are referring to this - Snow Bunny

"Placed on sundown?" How is a patient "placed" on a syndrome? That doesn't make sense to me.
Here's Why - MT
[ In Reply To ..]
Because they often clip things. Sundown protocol (or precaution) could easily become sundown. An example would be if a person is suicidal and they want to place the patient with a one-on-one sitter, or place on one-on-one [sitter] protocol. They might just say, "place on one-on-one."
Only you can decide on your own report.

Okay. I knew what the syndrome was, but being "placed" on it didn't make any sense. Thank you.

Have recent years experience with psych - what you are hearing is correct.

It is also incomplete so made no sense until I read the other explanation. (I'm one of those old-timers who wants to know what it means, not just what was said.)
Are you working on a psych account? I am very interested - psych

How do you find MTing in pyschology? Is it difficult or not so tough? Is it more straight or VR?
Thanks for answering!

Is there anyone here who can tell me why many of the companies who have psych reports only want MTs with 5 or more years experience? I've done a few psych reports and had no problems with them. I find them fascinating and would love to secure a job doing mainly those type of reports (if there are such jobs?). Just wondering why the 5 year requirement? Thank you in advance to anyone who has an answer. ...

Does anyone have any information on this company, i.e., pay, line requirements, etc.? I work as an IC MT for a psych clinic. My director called, asking for coding information. He knows nothing about coding (neither do I) and it took me a while to catch on to what he wanted.
I believe he wants an ICD-9 code for the appropriate compensation of writing and reviewing reports? His office secretaries don't have any idea.
A code for somone like himself writing and reviewing at a master's level, then another code for the psychiatrist obviously at a higher l ...

There's a posting by Blair's Transcription Services. First, I can't even find this "company" on the internet to verify it, and second, they're requiring the purchase of a C-phone. I'll admit, I didn't know what a C-phone was, so I looked it up. Those things are about $900 each!!! If they're wanting me to spend more money on an instrument to receive the dictation than I did on my fully-loaded computer, they need to offer a heck of a bette ...
