AnyModal/speech rec for Chartnet - sm

Anyone here have experience with AnyModal speech rec by Chartnet? Does it become pretty user-friendly after a short while? I'm told that the foot pedal and the mouse are not allowed to be used. Everything is done with shortcut keys. Seems cumbersome to me, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised once I get used to it.

I never could get used to the short cut keys, and felt for me personally, I did better with the foot pedal and mouse. I would also suggest you have something like InstaText to help you make "normal" templates, as you can not do that with ChartNet. You need to use "modules" for your headers - but if you have something like IT, you can make a template that can spit them out in a few keystrokes. It is really a pain...it took me about 3 months to get back to speed (including making all my shortcuts).

I use PC Shorthand and glad to know that I can continue to use it in AnyModal. I'll give the shortcut keys a try, but I've tried other VR systems in the past, and I still ended up using the mouse and always the foot pedal. Our hands can only do so much! They shouldn't have to do the job that our foot pedal can do. So...after 3 months were you making as much money as you were with straight transcribing on Chartnet?

Chartnet Anymodal editor does support templates. 'Official' templates should be set up by your MTSO. Also, it has built-in Expand Type which allows you to make your own templates on the fly.

I have been using ChartNet for a few weeks now. My training was really brief, so I still have a lot to learn. With the way we do the headers (cnt-N) and subheaders (cnt-shift-N), there doesn't seem to be any way to paste large sections into the report to include headers and/or subheaders. I did that a lot in DocQscribe, and it sure did help my line count not to mention my hands and wrists when I could copy and paste large sections into certain reports, especially with things like card ...

Why is it that every time Chartnet has an update, things end up worse than before? Stuff that used to work doesn't work right anymore. And it doesn't accept 1-letter abbreviations. Once in a while I mistakingly save a file before the voice file is done. I put in my first password in and then it tells me the voice file was not finished and all I can do is answer "OK" in the box. What I want to know if there is a way to go back and finish the file? The only thing I can do is split the file as if there was a separate dictation on the same voice file. I have recently started on ChartNet. I read reviews, which are mostly positive, and my question is why? I find it cumbersome with all the headings you have to make with the control/shift keys and entering, starting new headers, etc. Not very fluid at all (for me anyway).
