Question regarding auto correct - 1mt

Is it possible to transfer/copy/move my auto correct entries from my Windows XP (2002 or 2003) desktop to my Windows 2010 laptop? TIA very much.

If you don't know the location of that file, check search system and/or hidden files and have Windows search for *.acl. There will be several. The one you want will be the large-sized one with the most recent change date on it.
Copy it to a floppy, thumb drive, or whatever. Then go to your new PC and again search for *.acl, since different versions of Windows put these files in different places. Then paste it into that location.
Thank you Vet MT, but - 1mt

I did this and the auto corrections that I copied from my desktop and pasted into the auto correct file on my laptop are not expanding. Do you have any other info?
How do you turn off auto correct in DQS. Starting a new job Monday and plan on using SH so do not want the Auto Correct. Job not at MQ. Seems I've come full circle since working at home. Started out with a compahy bought by MQ, using DQS. Left and now back using it again 7-8 years later. Not sure if that is good or bad.
Thanks for the help. ...
I recently posted that I was finally done with the Q and hired by another company. True, dat. However, I forgot this one little thing. . .my auto corrects. I rely on them extensively and it will set me back a bunch if I have to start all over again.
I'll bet I've seen and read the instructions on how to do this a dozen times here at MT Stars. Now when I go back 3 months in the archives to find these how-to's, besides going cross-eyed and giving myself a headache ...

I copied and pasted my auto correct from Word 2002 from my desktop onto my laptop Word 2010. I can see the file there but when I open auto correct, only some, very few, of the entries are there. I have three auto correct files on my desktop and tried copying/pasting all of them into my laptop, but still only some of the entries are on my laptop. What am I doing wrong or is there something I have to do on my laptop to activate all .acl files? Thanks. ...

I entered into Word Auto-Correct "wh" for well-healed, which is great until I need to type "well healed" without the hyphen. There must be some consistent way to do these hypen and no-hyphen phrases. TIA- ...
I remember our CCM telling us a while back to do something like put the number sign at the beginning of each item and it would automatically convert to numbering when it uploads? Does anyone know exactly what we're to put? A number sign, period, and 2 spaces? ...
Have had absolutely NO problems with the new 6.1 DQS until today and then right in the middle of a long staight type report (wouldn't you know) everything started locking up. I looked down at task bar and saw a message that said virus scan windows workstations (group task) was running and then auto-save kicked in every few minutes. Finally managed to struggle through it and then logged out. I can't afford to sit there and not be to perform adequately while the clock is t ...
Anyone here work with the iTYPE program with Word? Whenever I put auto-text in, it is gone the next day. I am not getting any technical support from the IT people. I spend the time putting in the text to increase my lines (paid by line) but lose in the end b/c of the time I took to do it. Getting pretty discouraged

I had entered MANY auto text entries a couple months ago and now they are all gone. Is there a way to search for them or recover them? This is a laptap that is new to me, as is word 2010, but I did manage to figure out how to enter all these auto texts, and now they're just gone. I know that they did save initially because I used them, but now haven't been on the laptop for quite some time and they are all gone. Any ideas what happened? ...
I finally need to breakdown and get a new computer system. I tried out my husband's Mac for transcription but it wasn't right for me. Does anyone know if Windows 7 Word has the auto text feature? I can't function without it. Thank you so much! Gio ...
Thanks to those who replied about the Inscribe foot pedal rewind.. That works well now.
Just wondering about Auto Text now. I used to use that with my last account with Word 2000; highlight a common phrase, then Alt-F3. The phrase would then pop up in a little screen tip above the word or letters I used to name the phrase. I used this along with ShortCut macro program - had used both of them a lot.
Inscribe doesn't seem to ...
Does anyone know how to adjust the auto back step using Inscribe? I can only adjust the playback rate which is the speed of the dictator. I don't want to rewind five seconds every time I pick my foot up. ...
