Auto-correct as a word expander - jw

Posted: Jun 09, 2011

I use auto-correct as a word expander.  It works well for my account and company.  I am looking to see if anyone knows of a place that I can go to and get more ideas of additional abbreviations.  I have created my own thus far, but there has to be some other ideas for other words and phrases.  I am also looking for how to backup auto-correct in case heaven forbid my computer goes down.  TIA :)

Save AutoCorrect to a flash drive. - Crash.

I bought a book a few years ago-Saving Keystrokes by Diana Rolland that I have used. It was useful but I have found that the most useful was typing a report and then going back picking out words/phrases that I use frequently. I wrote them down on index cards and kept them on my desk top until I got in the habit of automatically typing them. I found this more helpful than using someone else's premade list.

If you want the book, you can probably find it on line.

Amazing how many never twig to the fact that it means - exactly opposite. Now, one of mine received

corrected versions in probably every single report for 2 years and never changed. I'm guessing she decided long ago that she just had to accept mistakes added in transcription. :)

This whole threaded seems rather disjointed and I cannot follow it for the life of me.

I think the 2 posts above mine belong on the main board under the "pet peeve in lieu of" post and somehow got attached to the auto correct question. Threw me too as it did not make sense to my response.

Neither can I and I posted the original question. What does lost in space having anything to do with what I originally asked?
It's a response to the amazing twig. - Above and Beyond.
