In Word 2007, click on the office button in the upper left corner, select Word options, proofing, AutoCorrect and uncheck the "replace text as you type"
How do you turn off auto correct in DQS. Starting a new job Monday and plan on using SH so do not want the Auto Correct. Job not at MQ. Seems I've come full circle since working at home. Started out with a compahy bought by MQ, using DQS. Left and now back using it again 7-8 years later. Not sure if that is good or bad.
Thanks for the help. ...
I recently posted that I was finally done with the Q and hired by another company. True, dat. However, I forgot this one little thing. . .my auto corrects. I rely on them extensively and it will set me back a bunch if I have to start all over again.
I'll bet I've seen and read the instructions on how to do this a dozen times here at MT Stars. Now when I go back 3 months in the archives to find these how-to's, besides going cross-eyed and giving myself a headache ...

I use auto-correct as a word expander. It works well for my account and company. I am looking to see if anyone knows of a place that I can go to and get more ideas of additional abbreviations. I have created my own thus far, but there has to be some other ideas for other words and phrases. I am also looking for how to backup auto-correct in case heaven forbid my computer goes down. TIA :) ...
Not sure if this is the right board to ask this question, if not please forgive. I need to know if anyone out there knows in Word how to auto correct format (-year-old or -month-old). I just can't remember how to do it, as it has been so long. I would appreciate any help out there. Thanks! ...
I copied and pasted my auto correct from Word 2002 from my desktop onto my laptop Word 2010. I can see the file there but when I open auto correct, only some, very few, of the entries are there. I have three auto correct files on my desktop and tried copying/pasting all of them into my laptop, but still only some of the entries are on my laptop. What am I doing wrong or is there something I have to do on my laptop to activate all .acl files? Thanks. ...

I entered into Word Auto-Correct "wh" for well-healed, which is great until I need to type "well healed" without the hyphen. Ideas please: what do you use for short cuts for "well-healed" and for "well healed"? Same for floor-of-mouth and floor of mouth. There must be some consistent way to do these hypen and no-hyphen phrases. TIA- ...
Is there a way to turn this box off? Our system is not well trained yet so there is a lot of editing required. The alt-K combination is awkward for me when having to stop every few words to correct something. I edit by forwarding my cursor through the document (like the red box does) but then there is no extra work in bringing the cursor forward to where the edit needs to made as it is already there.
Thanks for the input! ...
I accidentally turned off the display where it shows the demographic info and the job type, etc. when you're in the doc. Could somebody please tell me how to turn it back on. Looked in help and could not find it. Thank you. ...
I know this really isn't important, but it's driving me nuts!! Whenever I used to click on a topic, it would turn purple and stay purple. However, it stopped doing that a few days ago and stays blue now. Can someone please help me stay purple again? LOL ...
The messages stopped turning purple after I click on them. How can I get them to stay purple. I asked this the other day, and someone was kind enough to tell me to delete cookies, which I did, but the messages are still staying blue. I have Internet Explorer 9. Any other help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! :o) ...
I'll say one thing - no wonder the MT industry is upside down. For crying out loud, IRS referred me to DOL. DOL referred me back to IRS. When I persisted in wanting an answer from the DOL, I was told she would "have to talk to her supervisor to see if it was worth pursuing this issue." I've not heard back. I guess if I were a bigwig politician, I might actually get some attention to this matter. It just amazes me that nobody seems to want to be respo ...
Curious if anyone knows a way to adjust the volume on the Enterprise platform? For some reason I cannot hear some dictations very well and would love to turn up the volume :) ...
of a possible class action lawsuit. If you started taking things to the Labor Board you can bet MQ will be forced to let go of people. I'm not saying MM is not to blame because I DO believe they are sending 80% of the work to India for cheap labor and to avoid excessive taxes. They have a right to do that. MM provided work to American workers to provide some with jobs, not to make a profit. It's expensive to employ American MTs thanks to the US Govt, but that's for another day.&nb ...
I remember our CCM telling us a while back to do something like put the number sign at the beginning of each item and it would automatically convert to numbering when it uploads? Does anyone know exactly what we're to put? A number sign, period, and 2 spaces? ...
Have had absolutely NO problems with the new 6.1 DQS until today and then right in the middle of a long staight type report (wouldn't you know) everything started locking up. I looked down at task bar and saw a message that said virus scan windows workstations (group task) was running and then auto-save kicked in every few minutes. Finally managed to struggle through it and then logged out. I can't afford to sit there and not be to perform adequately while the clock is t ...
