Does anyone know the link (see message) - Trying to find it

I've been googling for quite awhile trying to find the link for the free 30-day trial of Instant Text or Shorthand. I'm currently working in Bayscribe and understand both of these programs are compatible with it, but I wanted to try the free 30-day trial first.

Does anyone know the linkage for the free 30-day trial on either (or both) of these?

Question about Shorthand - Computer illiterate

You seem to have some experience with Shorthand. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. I cannot seem to find anything on-line, but I may be searching incorrectly.

I have Shorthand Version 9 on a desktop computer that has Windows XP. I have a laptop that has Windows Vista.

I really do not want to buy Shorthand Version 10 for the laptop, but I will if I have to. My question is will I be able to transfer my Shorthand Version 9 entries to Version 10 once I have it on my laptop?

Also if I download a trial of Shorthand Version 10 onto my laptop, do you know how I can transfer my entries from Shorthand Version 9 to be sure they work before I pay for the Shorthand Version 10?

Thank you so much. I have a ton of entries and really do not want to start over.

The download and installation looks a bit intimidating but I'm sure it's just me and my OCD making me a bit apprehensive about anything new, LOL!

My question is, how long once you installed the program did it take for you to actually begin reaping the benefits of it? I know it would takes ages to fully load it with extensions, but from the "get-go," did you see immediate improvement over your production as compared to a regular expander? Since I have a few free hours tomorrow, I thought that would be a good time to download it and familiarize myself a bit with it. Is it easy to learn? Are the instructions written for "dummies" like me?

Also, one last question...Do I open the Shorthand program BEFORE I open Bayscribe so that they interface appropriately, or is Shorthand just something I always have open? I also have 1 account on eScription so I'm assuming if I keep it open it will interact with eScription as well.

I hope my questions aren't driving you batty, but your posts are always so helpful and informative that I can't help but want to pick your brain a bit.

Do you have any idea what your transcription rate is without shorthand versus with shorthand? I average about 250-300 lph without an expander (well other than the lackluster ones in Bayscribe and eScription which leave much to be desired).

How much of an increase did you see once you were comfortable with using SH compared to without it?

I hope that makes sense...I was so excited to read your replies that I'm only a quarter of the way through my first cup of cappy, LOL!

Hey there Maniac...Okay,it appears I have accurately downloaded both the SH program and the supplemental list of 13,000 abbreviations. Now, how do I "launch" it? I noted that the abbreviatiosn copied over as a ZIP file with which I have limited experience. Do I need to "un-zip" the file of abbreviations for them to work?

I'm getting ready to start work on my Bayscribe account and want to make sure I'm integrating everything appropriately before I dive in, LOL!

Honestly, I just cannot thank you enough for holding my hand thru this...You've been a total lifesaver!

Hey Marianne...Do you find InstanText easier to navigate than Short Hand? The shorthand program has be all discombobulated, LOL!

What "regular" expander have you been using until now?
To make the transition as smooth as possible, the first thing you may want to do is using the same shortcut list you have been using until now. If you have one, use the Importer to convert your list to an Instant Text glossary. Instant Text also includes a large number of lists ready to be used if you start out fresh.
New software can be frustrating when you don't know, then once you know, it looks easy.

If we are SO important to the care and safety of patients, then why has my pay been cut more than 50%--4 years ago it was 40% and then when bought by Nuance, it was cut again--not sure of the %.
