Changing font in Word

I don't know if anyone has struggled with this and can help me. My eyes are getting worse and worse and I need to increase my font for work. When I work in Word I know I can change the font through the tools but I have to change it manually every time I start a new document. Is there a way in AutoCorrect (Word 2010) to change a comma to a period and then cap the next word to make VR go a little faster?
