You could try plma - suggestion

If, I would use 'palma' in autocorrect, not shortcut...nm - vrvr

Adjective + noun: 3 + 2. SM - MissIndigo

I, too, wanted to start a system where I didn't have to memorize every single autocorrect entry, so made up my own method, which has served me well over the years:

Exmaple: 2-word phrases - first 3 letters each word -   i.e.- mainstem bronchus = maibro

        3-word phrases = 1st letter of 1st & 2nd words, 1st 3 letters of last word =

i.e.   congestive heart failure = chfai

        last menstrual period  = lmper

for types of masses, cysts, veins, cautery etc

  1st 2 letters  describing the above - i.e. Bovie cautery = bocaut, bipolar cautery = bicaut, internal jugular vein = vein

It may sound like not much of a shortcut, but it does help from running into duplications of phrases or putting in the wrong autocorrect abbreviation, and as long as I know how the words in the phrase are spelled, the autocorrect is easy to quickly think of.  It may not work for everyone, but sure has for me.

There are many many other smaller shortcuts for the most common words, but if you want to develop a system for longer phrases, this is an option. Hope that helps.
