Anyone have any experience with Chartnet? Yesterday, I tore my hair out trying to get it installed. I am wondering if it is compatible with Windows 7. I was trying to install the 4.0 version and still have not got it installed. Any tips out there?

Is there an IT department for the company? - Used it in the past

I worked for a small MTSO once on the ChartNet platform, and the IT person installed it themselves. Don't know if this was always the case, but it did take the IT person the better part of an hour and multiple attempts before it installed correctly.

If there's an IT person available to you, I'd give them a call and let them do it remotely just to spare yourself all that stress. I hate installing new platforms on my own (except Bayscribe, which is really simple, lol!).

Thanks for the info on Chartnet. I am due to start training tomorrow so hopefully will get it installed then. I even called a person here in town that does computers and they could not get it completely installed. I was just kind of worried because it sounds like a very good job in that it pays by the hour and not production.

I just installed Chartnet 4.1 on my computer a few weeks ago and it works fine. I have Windows 7 also. I installed it myself. The instructions I got state you have to turn off the User Account Control on your computer, and then restart your computer before installing. I can't remember exactly how I did this, but I know you do it through the Control Panel. I hope this helps you.

You're right about the Account Control. Control Panel, User Accounts, Turn User Control On or off. These are selections on Vista...not sure about 7.

I have been using ChartNet for a few weeks now. My training was really brief, so I still have a lot to learn. With the way we do the headers (cnt-N) and subheaders (cnt-shift-N), there doesn't seem to be any way to paste large sections into the report to include headers and/or subheaders. I did that a lot in DocQscribe, and it sure did help my line count not to mention my hands and wrists when I could copy and paste large sections into certain reports, especially with things like card ...

Why is it that every time Chartnet has an update, things end up worse than before? Stuff that used to work doesn't work right anymore. And it doesn't accept 1-letter abbreviations. My biggest peeve with this is that I have to manually capitalize the word "I" and I didn't have to do that before. So annoying. When something works, don't fix it. Once in a while I mistakingly save a file before the voice file is done. I put in my first password in and then it tells me the voice file was not finished and all I can do is answer "OK" in the box. What I want to know if there is a way to go back and finish the file? The only thing I can do is split the file as if there was a separate dictation on the same voice file. I have recently started on ChartNet. I read reviews, which are mostly positive, and my question is why? I find it cumbersome with all the headings you have to make with the control/shift keys and entering, starting new headers, etc. Not very fluid at all (for me anyway).
