A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
Greetings-
I am on EMDAT platform using InScribe client software.
According to EMDAT's website: "When a dictation is downloaded to a transcriptionist workstation, it is decrypted automatically and converted to an .MP3 file." https://www.emdat.com/software/faq.asp. EMDAT does state that they do not support using those files with other applications, but this only means that EMDAT Inc. won't provide you with technical support if you have problems with this procedure.
However there's no harm to you if you wanted to use a third-party audio playback software and type into MS Word or whatever, right? It's fully possible to feed the unencrypted MP3 file into a third-party program of the transcriptionist's choosing, then use a word processing program of the transcriptionist's choosing to type in the text, and lastly, copy-and-paste it into EMDAT InScribe, right?
Has anyone had any experience doing this?
