Can maybe someone answer my question. I purchased a new computer last year with the new Windows 7 home premium operating system. For the Internet Explorer, I have two icons, one on my desktop that strictly says 64-bit, plus there is an IE icon at the bottom of my toolbar that uses 32-bit for some sites (I think because Adobe Flash Player is not compatible with 64-bit OS, is what I was told by an HP tech person).
Some companies advertising on the Job Seeker board says can use Windows 7, 32-bit only. If some of these companies and MTs use internet platforms for transcribing, would I be able to use the IE icon for the 32-bit browser instead of the IE 64-bit browser. I have basically stayed away from applying for some jobs because of the explicitness of the operating system, 32-bit only. I don't know if using the 32-bit IE icon would be compatible with company software.
I know of one company that said would take applicants who have Windows 7 Professional because it could be emulated for XP.
I don't really understand why I have 2 icons for IE...I know other people who have purchased new computers in the last year, but they don't seem to have two IE icons. So I am not confused and I don't know who to ask. Is there someone on this board who can possibly help me to understand this. Feel free to email me for further questions.
