Shorthand for Windows expander - Carol2

I have been having something unusual happen with my Shorthand expander. I think I messed it up when I was doing some changing and ever since then I have not been able to expand an abbreviation when I am in the actual SH screen. I used to just hit enter and it would populate my document, but now it doesn't do anything at all at that point. I have to go back out of SH and then reenter the abbreviation in the document I am working in and then it works. Does anyone have a clue what I changed to make it do this. I can't figure this out. HELP PLEASE. Thanks for your time.

with the SH screen open, you should hit enter or - other SH user

click the "Type It" tab. If you have the SH screen open, and the "Type It" tab is not available, that means you are not in a program that allows that function. I may not exactly understand what it is you mean, though, because normally I don't open the SH program to enter an abbreviation (that is a lot of unnecessary window opening and closing).

I am at the screen where you click on the SH icon and the screen pops up. Sometimes I like to check first to see if what I am looking for has been added so I don't do another one. Once the screen is on and I am on the entry, if I hit enter I should be able to get that abbrev to work and input to my document, but it doesn't do anything at all. Don't have a type it screen.

set up your auto replace screen to save time - other SH user

Open SH and go to "File" and select "Preferences." Choose "Autoreplace" and look at the bottom to choose "Autoreplace Suggestion Window." Choose all three of the boxes under that so your top 9 suggestions show up and "float" on the screen. I anchored mine to the very bottom of my screen and type above it. I think you will save a lot of time having it visible.

Hi Everyone: I currently use Shorthand Word Expander program and I think it is interfering with the PScribe software I have to use for work. When I am in a report and having issues like Shorthand putting in wrong upper or lower case letters, I will turn off Shorthand and then it types the right thing. I am new to Shorthand. I have always worked with the shortcuts withing Word. Does anyone know how to make a template with a space that I can get to with the Function Keys? Howdy from Texas......I recently purchased a terrific and powerful Windows 7 Dell PC on clearance at a great price......and have been spending a lot of time getting it up and running...... My latest and hopefully last glitch is that I cant get shorthand to work with Bayscribe on this Windows 7 machine while using Internet Explorer 11. Well, after a less-than-stellar trial of IT and a bit of a disappointing trial of SmarType, I think I finally found one that works well for me in PC Shorthand. Really easy to make additions, not too obnoxious or distracting on the screen, and, after playing with the settings, no lag in expanding. Does anyone who uses Shorthand have any extra tips or tricks to increase its capabilities aside from what is listed in their instruction manual? So far it's meeting my needs quite nicely ...

I purchased ShortsCuts for Windows word expander back in 1999. It will not work with Vista or anything after that. I tried contacting the company I purchased it from but had no luck. Does anyone have this software or have changed to something similar where you were able to transfer you database? I have used IT Pro but they are expensive and will only give you a download. Someone recently had an issue with Shorthand and Autocorrect both operating at the same time, and they were apparently fighting with each other, because both of them had some of the same expansions/corrections, so the user was getting duplicate text. Ok, I downloaded Short Hand expander program but, for the life of me, it looks just like the standard auto expander/auto correct that comes with word.
