I am so frustrated!!! I have a new job, and it looks like I am going to have to look for another one that does not use Editscript V9 because no matter what tech support does they cannot fix it. They have even spoken to Escription.

I have 2 computers and neither one will work with ES 9. Unbelievable. One is less than a year old, and the other one is a few years old.

I have googled this error and tried all the things suggested and nothing works. I even bought registry cleaner software and cleaned my registry. Nothing works. They have never encountered this error before in tech support, and it doesn't seem like escription has encountered anyone with this error either. My luck I guess.

This is no consolation, I know, but if they're not able to troubleshoot their own software then you're probably better off not dealing with them because in the long run you'd probably be left high and dry at some point; best to find out now that they're incompetent.

The fact that these are run-time errors, and especially that it's happening on two different PCs, says that it's their problem and they should be able to fix it. It's likely (as discussed before) due to an errant version of one or more of the .ocx and/or .dll files, but that's something they should be all over, not you. (Also, as mentioned before, it could be the result of some piece of software that you have had installed on both PCs at some point [bringing with it the offending different version of whatever file is causing the problem], but THEY should be able to determine that and replace it with the correct file.)

Sorry you've had to go through all this, but they need to do the troubleshooting on this.

The company stated that it never happened before, only with her.

She should uninstall, reboot, and re-install, maybe it helps.

They tell you how to repair this. They give you a free download that fixes it. The error lies within your computers, due to incorrect or insufficient installing or uninstalling of a program.

What Window version do you have? EditScript might not work with Windows 7.

My problem hasn't been fixed. Why are you saying it fixed my problem? I am still waiting for escription to get back to me.

She said worst case scenario we will put you on a version 8 account. Well, they are waiting for Editscript to tell them whether or not they can fix the version 9. In the meantime, I am waiting. I cannot keep waiting.

I am going to tell her I am about to have to file bankruptcy here.

I tried every remedy I could find online. I even purchased a registry cleaner and repaired my registry. That didn't work either.

They said if they can't find a solution then they will have to put me on an Editscript v 8 account.

Does your tech support know that you have Vista?

You can try to uninstall and re-install the program again, Sometimes is works.

But you have to uninstall it, then shut off the comp, then reboot it and install the program again.

The error lies within your computer, not with your company.

If it's not a Vista thing, the only other thing I can think of is that you might have a 64-bit OS and the software is 32-bit?

EditScript v9 doesn't work with Vista, so if that's what you have then that's going problem. You need to install EditScript v9 into XP.

Easiest solution is to resize your current partition create a a new partition on your system and install XP on that. Then you can install everything you need to do your job. When you reboot your system you'll be offered the option of booting into XP or Vista. If XP is highlighted, his the Enter key. If Vista is highlighted, move the cursor to XP and hit the Enter key.

If it is, indeed, an OS incompatibility issue then you're working with some real doozies at the company, kiddo. I'd run from that kind of incompetence.

As posted before, I had error 372 on opening Editscript version 9. Well, tech support couldn't fix it, escription couldn't fix it, so I fixed it. I did a system recovery where I basically just wiped everything off my computer and started all over. Vista was basically reinstalled and it was like it was when it was new. I reinstalled my antivirus and word. Then when tech support installed ES 9, it worked. ...

Thought I was going to make it through today with no Major error but no such luck. I typed "There are" and they heard "The" Trust me either way the sentence says the same thing and in no way changes the meaning of the sentence so I get dinged a major error for this.
