Help with MTStars FlashCount - Kim

I realize that this is no longer being supported but was wondering if anyone might be able to help me. I have Windows 8 and Office 2003 and so far this program is the only one that is even working for me to get a line count (tried most of those found when searching in Google). It worked for me the first few times but now I am only able to say it in a .txt file which at least populates everything into a list but doesn't add it up so I have to do that by hand. When I try to get the entire report or save it through .rtf file it returns this:
run time error: 2147206461 (80043ac3).
Any help would be greatly appreciated or maybe some recommendations on other programs. I have tried Sylcount, Abacus, several other line count software programs.

[ In Reply To ..]I needed a good-looking invoice to send to my client, and neither the .txt or .rtf formats were acceptable for that. I'd save as a .pdf using doPDF (link below, free download). So I would use Finish - Invoice View and Print at the Invoice Generation step, click on the Printer icon on the top left, choose doPDF (after making that my "default printer"), and then browse to where I wanted to save my invoice, etc.
I wasn't literally printing the invoice, just saving it on my desktop or wherever (doPDF acting as a "printer" is simply how it works).
Also, I found the Regular Word Count (Slow) method at the Rule Selection step the most accurate (after double-checking with Word count). The amount for each individual document was "rounded off" on the final invoice, strangely (and I never found a way to remedy that), regardless of which method I used, but the Total Amount was dead-on.

Does anyone know where I can find a good clean download of this program? I have tried going to the mtstars.com website to the download site & after I hit the download button & then tell it to run, it comes back and says "Error in compressed file-bad CRC"--have tried numerous times. Does MTStars FlashCount Work With Vista?

I have installed it and it works just fine until the point of creating invoice and it will not add up my words, lines, or anything. I have selected different ways just playing around and cannot get it to calculate. It produces the invoice just fine but with no actual calculations. The only thing I am wondering is if it is a Vista compatibility issue. I noticed the website did not list it under "Platform Supported". Thanks in advance for any help provided! ...

I'm having trouble getting FlashCount to generate the numbers for my invoice. I go through all the steps, putting in the information, and when I click on the final/review link, it generates the invoice but with no numbers. Where there should be numbers, it is blank. I downloaded FlashCount and love the ease of use. However, it gives a count which is slightly higher than when I manually do it in Word by dividing characters with spaces by 65. Is there a way to adjust the settings in FlashCount so it will give me the same count. I wonder if it is counting things like bold, etc. Or, is there another counting program that will count batches of files and do it accurately? It need not be freeware. I will pay for it. Years ...

I have to reinstall the MTStars Flashcounter program, but I am not able to do it. I get a dialog box "Setup Initialization Error" that states "Setup has encountered an error in Registration Database". Does anybody know what this means? I have never had a problem reinstalling the program before. I do get a shortcut icon on my desktop PC that says "Demo has expired"..what does this mean? Any help would be appreciated. It is getting so frustrating to post. First of all it only works in plain text, not rich text. Then it's a nightmare to move around the document. Using the arrow keys highlights what it feels like highlighting, then you have to wait several seconds for the cursor to move, when it does move. To move the cursor back, every click highlights something else instead of moving the cursor. It just took 12 seconds for my arrow key to finally change the cursor position. I know Control + Scroll on mouse will make text larger or smaller. However, even after making test larger on MTStars website, it still does not realign on the page, and I have to use the slider bar at bottom of screen back and forth to read entire message.
