Is anyone else having problems with MTStars being - extremely slow SM

in the late evening/early morning hours? All other sites on my computer are fine and as fast as usual. I have noticed this over the last couple of days. It takes so long to respond that I eventually just give up.

Several of you have written in to say that the site has been very slow recently. Just wanted to say that we are aware of site performance problems and looking into this. We have been experiencing heavy traffic which accounts for part of it. But there seem to be other issues as well. We are looking into ways of solving this. This is our number one concern right now.

me 2 to 3 tries to get it to even start up. Lots of times I have to hit "CTL-ALT-DEL" to turn off the failed startup of Internet Explorer. Everything else in turn seems to be slowed down: work, e-mail, surfing the net. And you're right about giving up. I give up so often (not only on this site, but others as well, including Facebook), that I seem to be getting less and less accomplished on my PC.

We've been using it for years rather than Internet Explorer. Fewer pop-ups, too.

Firefox is faster than IE, not just for MTStars but for all other sites as well.

Works fine for me. When surfing, I use Firefox. When my software needs to open up my explorer, it does so.

Guessing this is not just a problem with MT Stars - having same thing happen to Kroger website too. Maybe a virus??

Anyone still getting MTStars Alerts? I tried searching for information to see if Admin posted something about if and/or when that feature would be available, but could not find anything. I have to reinstall the MTStars Flashcounter program, but I am not able to do it. I get a dialog box "Setup Initialization Error" that states "Setup has encountered an error in Registration Database". Does anybody know what this means? I have never had a problem reinstalling the program before. I do get a shortcut icon on my desktop PC that says "Demo has expired"..what does this mean? Any help would be appreciated. Is there any other software that I can get online just in case I can't get ...

I am trying to do a search on MTSTARS, but when I hit the search button, I get a message there is "error on page" and nothing shows on the page -- totally blank. I tried hitting the search button on other categories, and that also does not work. Can anyone help me? So that I can use the "search" button on MT Stars? ...

I realize that this is no longer being supported but was wondering if anyone might be able to help me. I have Windows 8 and Office 2003 and so far this program is the only one that is even working for me to get a line count (tried most of those found when searching in Google). It worked for me the first few times but now I am only able to say it in a .txt file which at least populates everything into a list but doesn't add it up so I have to do that by hand. It is getting so frustrating to post. First of all it only works in plain text, not rich text. Then it's a nightmare to move around the document. Using the arrow keys highlights what it feels like highlighting, then you have to wait several seconds for the cursor to move, when it does move. To move the cursor back, every click highlights something else instead of moving the cursor. It just took 12 seconds for my arrow key to finally change the cursor position. I have tried going to the mtstars.com website to the download site & after I hit the download button & then tell it to run, it comes back and says "Error in compressed file-bad CRC"--have tried numerous times. I have installed it and it works just fine until the point of creating invoice and it will not add up my words, lines, or anything. I have selected different ways just playing around and cannot get it to calculate. It produces the invoice just fine but with no actual calculations. The only thing I am wondering is if it is a Vista compatibility issue. I noticed the website did not list it under "Platform Supported". Thanks in advance for any help provided! ...

I know Control + Scroll on mouse will make text larger or smaller. However, even after making test larger on MTStars website, it still does not realign on the page, and I have to use the slider bar at bottom of screen back and forth to read entire message. No problems getting to this site, but frequently where the list of messages/threads would be is blank. The MTStars banner, ads, and Navigation panel on the left are visible. I have to click on the Navigation board I want (ex. Word Help) multiple times before the threads appear. Also happens when creating a post or replying to one.
