FlashCount Help!!! - Michelle

I'm having trouble getting FlashCount to generate the numbers for my invoice. I go through all the steps, putting in the information, and when I click on the final/review link, it generates the invoice but with no numbers. Where there should be numbers, it is blank. Anyone know how to get this to work. I've used it in the past fine, but it's been awhile and maybe I'm forgetting something. -Thanks

Yes, and I check the select all button. The names of my files show up, the system doesn't generate any numbers for the lines, characters and totals.

on the invoice generation tab - sm

you have to make sure to check the boxes for the columns you want - in this case, lines

I check the boxes I want and uncheck the ones I don't. I leave the lines, characters with spaces, amount and file names boxes checked and all those columns show up but with no numbers in them

try also checking lines (65 char) - sm

The only other thing I can think of is when selecting the folder your reports are in, at the bottom of that column check the box that says files in subfolders then click select all and then next step.

I put in the client's info. I select my rule selections- lines as per 65 characters at 0.08 USD. I then select my files, have them listed and click select all. I then choose my invoice columns and click on the finish invoice/preview. My preview of my invoice pops up with no numbers generated :(

since my files are typed in MS Word. The options in the box itself though are in grey and cannot be selected. Is it just one of the boxes that need to be selected? i.e., regular word count or extended word count?

Just out of curiosity, are your Word documents saved as .doc or .docx? If you are using a newer version of MS Word, you may need to save your files in .doc format, as I don't think FlashCount will work on .docx documents. I'm not sure about this, but it may be worth a try. Hope you get it figured out!

I downloaded FlashCount and love the ease of use. However, it gives a count which is slightly higher than when I manually do it in Word by dividing characters with spaces by 65. Is there a way to adjust the settings in FlashCount so it will give me the same count. I wonder if it is counting things like bold, etc. Or, is there another counting program that will count batches of files and do it accurately? It need not be freeware. I will pay for it. Years ...

I realize that this is no longer being supported but was wondering if anyone might be able to help me. I have Windows 8 and Office 2003 and so far this program is the only one that is even working for me to get a line count (tried most of those found when searching in Google). It worked for me the first few times but now I am only able to say it in a .txt file which at least populates everything into a list but doesn't add it up so I have to do that by hand. Does anyone know where I can find a good clean download of this program? I have tried going to the mtstars.com website to the download site & after I hit the download button & then tell it to run, it comes back and says "Error in compressed file-bad CRC"--have tried numerous times. Can't find anywhere else to download it from. I had to wipe out my hard drive & reinstall everything & I really want to get this program back on there. Help!! ...

I have installed it and it works just fine until the point of creating invoice and it will not add up my words, lines, or anything. I have selected different ways just playing around and cannot get it to calculate. It produces the invoice just fine but with no actual calculations. The only thing I am wondering is if it is a Vista compatibility issue. I noticed the website did not list it under "Platform Supported". Thanks in advance for any help provided! ...
