ExEditor - slowness, cursor dragging, freezing

Anybody using ExEditor for TT/Imedx having problems with their screen freezing up every minute or so after 6 pm CST? I've been noticing this for a while, and it's really, really getting annoying. My screen will freeze, then the IE icon starts spinning, screen blinks, then everything okay for a little bit more. I just started on Fluency (came from Acquisitions) and notice some of the AutoHotKey shortcuts I created for VR have a lag. I have a separate PC and a laptop, so have a computer used only for work that I bought about 2 years ago. I have 6 GB of RAM. Does anyone know if there's a way when you used your control+arrow (lt/rt) key to skip over a word, if there's some way I can arrange it so the cursor ends up at the end at the word instead of at the beginning of the next word? While reviewing a report, I use my right arrow key to follow along and it is moving very slowly and seems to stop at every single letter even with keeping my finger on the arrow button.
