Ever heard of eClinicalWorks EMR/EHR system? - Haylee

Does anyone have any information about eCW of eClinicalWorks EHR system. A physician i type for just got this system and he is hoping to still be able to use me as a transcriptionist, but we are unsure if the system has the capability for a doctor to dictate from the system nd the transcriptionist to type directly into a platform on the EHR. Just trying to figure it out and I would love any informatoin anyone can provide me.

Hi, yes. I have used eCW for the past 10 years. He can dictate and send you the audio and you can transcribe directly into the system. There is a "dictate" button in the platform itself but I have had doctors try it and go back to using the recorders. It is a VR type system and not very good. ECW is all point and click based. There are so many options for everything from canned sentences to entire templates. Basically I would transcribe in word then copy/paste into eCW, because it was faster for me and easier to count the lines. Now, as an MA, I use the point and click exclusively as this doctor has all the templates sent up so when I do her notes it is more like, "copy ENT, move over, template this" and not your traditional audio. Somehow I have gotten this virus on my laptop and when searching for ways to remove it on the internet (on my desktop), all the sites are either extremely comlicated or want you to download things in order to remove it. My account was switched over 5 weeks ago and truthfully I don't see improvement. One day I think maybe it is getting better and the next day it's worse. It's simply unfair that MQ pays me the same same whether I do a normally dictated report, or one that is handicapped. Handicapped reports obviously take much more time to finish.
