Copy Shorthand files into AutoCorrect? - jan

I have a potential job offer but it would be using their computer with Dolbey Fusion and I am not allowed to use Shorthand expander but they said if I have files in Autocorrect they will transfer them for me. I know there is a way to get autocorrect files into Shorthand and I am pretty sure there is a way to do the reverse but I can't figure it out and I have searched for days online without success. Of course Shorthand customer service won't help me. They just keep asking me why I want to do this. Can't really blame them as I would no longer be using their product. The reason is, the company that wants to hire me won't let me. Please help!!!!

The company I work for uses Dolbey Fusion/their own computer. Their IT walked me through transferrring my autocorrect entries. It took a few minutes.

It seems there was a macro posted on Productivity Talk years ago which let you convert .spf (Shorthand files) to .acl (Autocorrect files) but that forum is now closed and everything is being transferred over to MT desk or at least it said it was last August. I posted a message on their Facebook page but no response yet. Looks like last message posted was a year ago.

I'd like to back up/make a copy of all of my AutoCorrect entries. Anybody have an easy way to do this? The instructions I found online were pretty cumbersome and they didn't do the job. Also, is there a limit to the number of entries AutoCorrect will hold? Seems like when I add new ones, old ones drop off. I've probably added 1000 by now. Thanks for your help. :) ...

I recently started working for a company that uses Chartnet. I like the platform. However, I have over 5,000 entries that I've painstakingly created on the PC Shorthand expander program, and they are causing problems when I'm on Chartnet. What happens is, when I type a shortcut from PC Shorthand, it will cause Chartnet to switch to "overwrite" mode and replace whatever text is already there. It types right over the text, and I don't want it to do that. ...

AutoCorrect seems much easier to deal with, but won't handle long canned text, and there is no "normals" program in eScription I can add long reports to. I cannot tweak Shorthand to my liking; no matter how much I try, I still have to fight to get a lot of terms to expand. It's really annoying. But it can handle unlimited entries and long blocks of Text that AutoCorrect can't. ...

Hi everyone, I use both Word and WordPerfect. I have autocorrect entries in both Word and WordPerfect that I would like to transfer over to PC Shorthand. I work for a company's account that uses Escription. When I want to google a term, I like to highlight it and copy it into the google search. Also, I like to add entries in Instant Text as I work. When I am working, they tell me the account has locked out the ability to copy into the clipboard. My question - is that truly the account's choice or is it true for all of Escription? ...

I used to be able to copy and paste with no problem, but for the last couple of nights I have not been able to paste. Is there a copy of the book of style on Enrich? I cannot for the life of me find it. I got dinged for an omission error because at the end of a list of allergies the dictator stated "parenthesis, details of allergies are not known, end parenthesis" and since it was a stand alone sentence, I left the parentheses off.
