Way to go Nuance! I had actually hoped we'd at least get copays this time, even if it meant paying more. Disgusting. Plain and simple. Having insurance that you can barely afford and can't even use because of the obscenely high deductible and no co-pays is ridiculous. This year is even more special - we are signing up for something we don't even know that we can afford because of the compensation changes they have promised. I am going to check into opting out and getting something else. With the salary I am making, I probably can do that. Merry freaking Christmas to you too Nuance. Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, a job hunting we shall go.

Yeah. I haven't been to a Dr all year. Can't afford it - with $30 paycheck.

No, not exaggerating and I actually rounded that up. That's 2 weeks. That was after FIESA got me really good and paranoid.

In my opinion, food and rent are more important than insurance I can't afford even if I am eligible for the govt subsidy.

Depends on the plan you pick and where you live .. - short message

My daughter is on it and her deductible is 1500.

MTs are poverty-level workers, and likely - qualify for a large subsidy. Go for it!

Here's what I do....(I'm single, no minor children) - as far as medical insurance...

I work 28 hours (so I'm under the 30 hours and don't get offered insurance)..then go on the health care exchange and buy a silver plan. Not the best but better than what Nuance offers. Of course this only works if you work under 30 hours AND make over a certain amount (16k in my state). If you are offered insurance by your company (no matter how crappy) you have to accept it, and if you don't want to, you don't have to but you won't get the subsidies. If you fall under 16k (or whatever the threshold is for MediCal/Medicaid is in your state), you are eligible for MediCal/Medicaid. So, for this to work for you, you have to be able to work under 30 hours. If you need to work FT, so long as you make under that threshold you can still get MediCal/Medicaid. Hope this helps someone.

Considering the low pay working here, maybe - no one will qualify for Obamacare, either. (sm)

health care, which you will NEED....after eating a diet of basically noodle soup and old bread. And you can get on the anti-depressants you will inevitably need. Sigh.......it's really still a no-win situation

This is silly Not only do we need to follow CP guidelines but BOS and then DocQscribe standards. So even if you have the first 2, the third will get you audit. Why can't they spend the money and create one set of rules to follow and be done with it. Recently got new computer and started using Windows 7 Professional. When I type p.o. I get two spaces after each period. Not sure if a fluency or a Win 7 problem. I have scoured all settings, to no avail. Also, what I had fixed before, when I type p.o. I get p.O. Any ideas how to get rid of the capital O. That any large American company that has sent its work overseas would bring it all back and become a "hero" company by doing so, which would garner a lot of press for them, create improved morale across the board, and would hopefully see increased sales and jobs if the American public bought their product over something they could get at Walmart cheaper. but from the posts, I can see that everyone else is in the same boat I am. I can only agree that this is the lowest paying MT job I've ever had and that the constant haranguing about working extra over the weekends is completley annoying. I don't know if yall know this, but I found out during the process of appealing an insurance claim that MedQuist is self-insured. They set our rates and our benefits and pay all our claims, United Healthcare just administers the fund!
