Just saying to all of you there who struggle daily with loss of self-esteem and income. There is a better life. They nearly killed me with stress.

I can't help but wonder if part of their strategy is to lower self-esteem, to essentially make one feel that she can do nothing else and might as well tough it out no matter how demeaning the company is.
Yep we have weekly meetings on lowering MT's self esteem - Get a grip
Trying desperately - I wish you luck on getting out. - Have you thought about..sm

taking up a new trade or two? Most community colleges offer Medical Office Assistant programs that are less than a year long, lab tech? Get on-line and browse your local community college course catelog to see whats offered. There are quite a few trade/certificate programs you can do in a years time or less to help you find jobs and get your resume up-dated.

Working for Nuance had a very psychological effect on me. The longer I stayed, fully aware of how I was being used and exploited, the harder it became for me to think I could get out and do something else. But I did. Talk about a relief to my mind.

Boy you just took the words right out of my mouth and email. I just wrote my supervisor telling her I couldn't comply with my schedule as my self-esteem as an MT is in jeopardy; that and the fact that Nuance has cost me my apartment and my car probably isn't too far away either. Last week I had 11 hours in as the acct I was on didn't want us working on it and I didn't know I had a secondary and now I'm getting my rear end handed to be for being the worst MT ever.
You lost your apartment working for Nuance? - So sorry. Unless you live in

some sort of affordable housing with rent being income based, I can totally see that happening if this job is your only means of income. Hope things get better for you.
I got in trouble for working on my secondary when OOW - anon

that is the problem, they can't make up their minds. We should have access to more than 1 account at all times. Every single one of my secondaries have a different TL. How stupid is that? I have to check with my TL and the TL of the secondary before I can work on it and then get permission from both. What are the odds of getting a response from 2 different TLs?
Even at MModal (who are evil incarnate) your secondaries automatically download when your primary is out of work.

To lower your self esteem is if you let them

That's a brilliant observation. Why don't you have your own practice? Oh, now I remember.

Nuance does lower self esteem and overhires. You are hired for a set schedule, then when you run OOW they expect you to flex (although they will tell you that you don't HAVE to). However, if you don't flex, at the end of the pay period, you wind up with a smaller than normal paycheck. It is ridiculous. Don't EVEN get me started on the QC/QA, who half the time get the specs mixed up from one account to another and add commas where they are not needed, etc. I, too, did the happy dance when I left and felt as if a 50 pound weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I have a hard time understanding how anyone can actually be happy there. My guess is that they will not be for long. Something will happen - Nuance is just that way.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have heard this insurance plan (BC/BS?) does not cover primary care office visits until you reach a 2500 dollar deductible, no copay anymore, paying for the whole visit?? I thought all insurance companies had us pay a copay, not the whole cost of the office visit. What about prescriptions, do we pay the full price for them now too, or is it still about a 15 dollar copay? I am left wondering how they got this kind of insuranc ...
I have been part time with Transcend for over 5 years now and no health benefits and now they are having open enrollment. I thought Nuance would take that over and give PT people health insurance. I guess that was being too hopeful, right?? ...
May be a silly question, but can't seem to get an answer. Can we cancel health benefits with Nuance at any time? Or is it only once a year? Can we drop it and get Obamacare instead? From what I have heard from friends, I would have much better coverage going with Obamacare instead of Nuance. ...
tell me how that works? I know the insurance premiums are less than a regular health plan. If your company puts 500 in your account, does that mean the first few times, for example, until you use up the 500, you don't pay ANYTHING or is it the opposite...you pay the entire office visit cost until you reach that 500? I would be so grateful for any information about this type of plan. TIA ...
According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive.
In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...
Hey folks. Does anyone know of a group health insurance coverage I can get even with preexisting issues? My company doesn't offer it. I've thought of switching companies but all the other ones sound so awful. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ...
Does anyone know who took over the account for the Kaleida Health Group in the Buffalo New York area? Nightingale Informatix out of Canada previously had the account but recently lost it. ...
I have a good friend who left the Q and is working in a doctor's office. They have to confirm insurance coverage ON some of their patients. While doing so, she had to contact United Health. The call was answered in INDIA!!! ...
Under the impression and the "bone health" heading, the patient is said to have s/l "avortionate" problems - on ergocalciferol for vitamin D deficiency. He is diagnosed with Gout, Crohn's, OA, inflammatory arthritis, and polyarthralgia/polymyalgia. ...
I am considering becoming self employed (after a fashion) as an IC. I have gone onto www.healthcare.gov and gone through the steps they advise when you want to take out private insurance. Holy cow, the insurance plans offered varied in premium cost from $600 to $4000 per month for a family of 4, but the thing that got me was two items: Maximum out of pocket for individual: 0$. Annual deductible for individual: 0$. Woohoo. This just seems too good to be true.&n ...
Does anyone know if my employer can force me to buy the company-sponsored insurance? I can't afford it any longer, so I want to drop it for the upcoming enrollment. Last year, there was a sheet that stated something like this: Opt out only with proof of coverage elsewhere and attach a copy of insurance card. ...
I am assuming that the phrase "Employee Health" would be capitalized if the doctor says, " The patient is to return to Employee Health in 1 month, sooner if needed."
Should it be capitalized? ...
I am looking at going to work with Entrada health. Has anybody ever heard of them or work for them? Just curious if its a stable, good company. Thanks for your help. ...
My teacher IS a lawyer. Any questions I should ask him??? Just read the post below about the old grandfathered. I am a grandfathered employee, but what is "new" grandfathered employee. I had ONE interview back in 1990 and here I am today. Been bought, merged, and aquired with name changes to finally, Medquist and soon, we will probably getting a new name again after all the acquisitions. It seems our company is probably run by a lot of lawyers who know how to handle ...
I think I'm losing my hearing in the "human voice" decibel range or frequency or whatever its called. I'm only 47, but in the past few years I have had trouble hearing conversation when there is ambient noise, as in a restaurant or at a party. I sometimes have trouble hearing my DH, but he speaks in a monotone anyway :-) I can hear other things just fine, but I think my nerve endings are becoming deadened to the frequencies or decibel ranges of the average human voice ...
As June is approaching us, I suggest that anyone who has health benefits appeal to upper management (I emailed Vern and got a decent reply) to please consider better benefits. They way they are now, if you are a single parent with young children, this plan could be catostrophic in a way worse than if you had no benefits or job to speak of. I am not single nor have young children but am currently in debt of over 2,000 to a health provider. I will probably still be paying it off when we use ...
I just feel like calling up the CCM and saying, "I just cannot type 1 more word today."
I dont want to let her down, or let the work get behind, but I just need a break today. ...
I saw Entrada Health was advertising on mtstars.com. I checked out their web site for the position. In the QA position, it mentioned "offshoring." Does anyone have any experience working with this company? They also say they pay well. I'm so wary of these companies. Do we know for sure they 'offshore/" How do they treat their US employees? ...
I worked for MD-IT for 3+ years. I started out full time but this past summer switched to part time because I have two smalll chidren at home My supervisor said it was competely fine and when I wanted to switch back over, just let her know and she would take care of it. I had not switched back over to full time because of some family issues but was planning on doing this starting this January, which my supervisor also knew. Over the summer, I started noticing that I was getting ...
