Medical reports downloading into your music library for Ipod - justwondering

I have a medical report from a hospital that downloaded into my music library for my Ipod. Even if I check the box that I don't want it, it will still download again whenever the IPod is plugged back in. Now granted some doctors have a really sexy voice (you know what I mean), but you still can't dance to it. Does this happen to anyone else? I know this has to be a HIPPA violation since the name of the patient, MRN and everything else is given at the beginning of the report, but you still can't dance to it. Would this be considered my HIPPA violation even though I didn't put it there?

No, it isn't a HIPAA violation because you are authorized to see and hear it. Your duty on discovering this is to delete it from your iPod.

It will become a violation when you play it out loud in front of others, give your iPod to your spouse or friend even if you don't realize it is there, or sell your iPod without completely erasing it in a manner that prevents anyone from retrieving it.

Accidents happen. Minimize the potential for disclosure. Now that you know this might happen, keep an eye out for it. If it happens again, delete the file.

And, yes, it will be considered your violation if you don't do something about it. Same as if you throw out your computer without irrevocably destroying the data in it. This is why some of us remove the drives and physically destroy them.

This kind of thing is one of the problems with shared-purpose machines, unfortunately.

Hi Everyone! I am an IC who has been having problems with dictation jobs either partially downloading or not downloading at all. I am using Fusion player. I type in Siemens Syngo Workflow and it locks up also. My employer says it's my modem and just to reset it, which I do, over and over and over. Very frustrating.
