End of quarter incentive - Offering PTO

I really hope I'm not outing myself by sharing this, but apparently my team (I think this goes all the way up to the COM but see my comment below) is offering unlimited PTO from this afternoon until Tuesday.  Basically, for every 8 hours you work over your scheduled shift, you'll get 8 hours of PTO.  It's not a 1:1 ratio, but rather you have to work a minimum of 8 hours to get 8 hours.  If you work 7, you get nothing.  If you work 13 you get 8.  If you work 16, you get 16, but if you work 19, you still only get 16. 

According to the e-mail, it's for "all accounts, all platforms." 

What stinks is some of our accounts have been running OOW while others have been way over TAT.  So the ones with lots of work might survive, but to me, the ones that have average to low work right now, those working eight hours minimum of OT will just be taking away work from those already scheduled. 

If I come in to work during this time and my accounts are all dry, I am going to be so pissed off!  Not at those trying to get a few extra dollars, but rather at the management.  A lot of these accounts don't get much work on the weekend's anyway, so this just makes it that much worse.  And with it being "all accounts, all platforms," this isn't targeting a specific need to get some backlog out of the way.

I got the same email and thought the same thing. My primary I love and never rarely runs out of work except around holidays, but this past week I have run out every day (very unusual) and then I get this stupid email and it really upset me because people who shouldn't be typing are going to be typing and take away from those of us who are working our shift and we need those jobs to make our pay (as little as it is). Totally not fair and very upsetting.

I think everyone across the board got this e-mail, so I think you are safe. We can barely get our time in now for our regular hours...how on God's green earth are we going to be able to get an additional 8 hours, even if we wanted to do this. No thanks...I'll pass. I can't help but think of the episode of SpongeBob where Mr. Krabs says: "Do you smell it? That smell. A kind of smelly smell. The smelly smell that smells smelly." I think I will be enjoying a stress-free weekend with family and friends.

This company does NOTHING that is a benefit for us---there is some angle to this for them, either tax-wise or appearance-wise, that benefits THEM and usually when they benefit, we lose.

Well, whoever posted about the accounts all being without work for the regular shift is very right. There will be so many trying to make the 8 hours that the normally scheduled people will be without work. That really sucks!

I agree; this will not benefit us and if you can't work your regular shift and get in a full 8 hours, then you won't be able to the extra 8 as well and that is a lot of transcribing. What, do they want us to work 16 hour days now? Do nothing for this company, other than put in your assigned shift. Let them work it out. They dangle a carrot and think everyone will come running, but no more for me, thank you very much. I have had my fill of their crumbs! I just do my shift with or without work and go from there. I also have another job, thankfully, that I can fall back on during those times, but that truly sucks too, having to work two jobs which equates to one. No extra $$ that's for sure.

I also have 2 jobs and have to just to make enough to support myself and pay bills. If you agree to any set hours to work and then can't because of OOW, then you don't qualify so you are literally giving them 8 hours of your time and not getting the incentive because of them. Meanwhile you are taking away from those employees who are scheduled to work that shift and they end up being OOW also. It's a lose lose situation for all of us MTs and I for one will in no way participate or give them anymore of my valuable time

The thread was about the email that we got wanting us to commit to 8 extra hours over the weekend and we would get 8 extra pto hours added but we had to do the whole 8 and let them know exactly when we would be typing these 8 hours

I see red flags everywhere.

Oct 1 is the beginning of a new fiscal year for a lot of companies and when major changes often occur.

Been there, done this with another company, i.e., an unexplained push to empty their systems before a certain date. Result was we were bought out by another company.

No clue what will happen but I would not be surprised to be unemployed as of 10/1, or major changes in company structure. I'd be willing to bet money something big is coming.

So, my fellow MTs, don't stress about it this weekend. Get busy and start preparing for the next chapter in your book of life.

I also got that email. I thought about it because I could use an extra PTO day, but then again, I have a life. If I worked 8 extra hours in the next 2-4 days, I'd be exhausted by the end of my week so screw it. I'll be enjoying my 2 days off - :)

There have been many times this week when I have had no work. I imagine it's because of the OT that was offered earlier in the week. People jumped on my primary and I had nothing many, many times. This company has no clue about management. We're all patsies.

If you are on track to make bonus this quarter -- think about it -- 8 more hours -- 20 to 40 more reports for them to pick apart and screw you out of bonus. If you are not on track to make bonus, consider your colleagues who are scheduled to work this weekend and need the hours.

I am happy to see some of the MTs are not falling for this and not caving into N and their plots and ploys. Again, we have to hit them where they live and not jump at these empty promises. Of course, we are the minority on this board, but even if a few say no, it stands for something. Who knows what Oct 1, will bring. Maybe they will shut down and we can collect UE and be free from this horrible place. I for one, am wishing for that, even though I desperately need a job. I have been looking every day in every way, and hopefully something will come through. I think if I was not here, I would be more inclined to do just about anything! But I will say one thing, I will collect UE as long as I can and get ever last penny out of them, just like they have done to us.

If they really wanted us to work extra - what about paying OT fairly?

is all Nuance plays. I agree they say time and a half, but the real deal is that we just get paid the "half". Just how stupid do they think we are?!

P.S. I did NOT drink the Kool-Aid either! I refuse to work 8 extra hours for a whopping $25!! I'll see them Tuesday for my regular shift.

Word games is right and good for you -- there were no 8 hours available anyway -- at least not for me. Was scheduled to work my regular hours this weekend. Got about 5 hours in. I would like to thank the numbskull in the suit who came up with this idea, but then again, maybe they aren't as dumb as we think, eh?

to India. This has obviously started as my once very busy accounts are drying up. As a single parent with 3 little ones to feed, I am a wreck. I have to wonder, do any of the Nuance higher-ups even give a vague thought to how they are ruining someones life and livlihood. It's just so sad to know they collect their billion dollar salaries and bonuses off the back of us worker bees and they give no thought to the possibility we are a second away from homelessness. I was taught to see the good in everyone, but I'm finding this very difficult with this recent news about my accounts.

I gave up trying to see the good in Nuance a long time ago. They just plain don't have any.

All Nuance accounts are SUPPOSED to go off-shore. That is why they - they were purchased in the first place.

Nothing new going on, really, just more people finally awakening to a 4- year trend of acquisition, layoff (or create mass exodus with starvation) Six months, THEY START ALL OVER and do it with yet another set of new dogs to be "sqoze" into the pens with the older mutts who now don't have enough until they too get disgusted and leave. It' actuaaly the only think they good at, being all Bain Capital on us.

No one's account is "safe" from being off-shored because all contracts are renegotiated annually. PLEASE, people, don't get sucked in!

No question that it was my fault missing it, in one eye and out the other, though I don't think a minor error in number of rbc's on a UA should be more than 1 point, but whatever. Anyway, I've decided it's like getting a dent on a new car ... hope to get it out of the way quickly so you don't have to keep holding your breath about it.  I hovered at 99.48% for like half of last quarter before that was finally kiboshed, and that drove me even crazier than I already am ...

Survey on how many receive bonus after this quarter.  I was on track with 99.6% accuracy last week on post audits, but in the last 2 days have had 5 reports in post audit that just happened to bring my percentage down to 98.7.  What a coincidence!  Yes, they found 5 reports, but how many did they have to check before they found 5 that would bring it down below 99%. ...

...where is all this changing the dates of the quarter coming from? I took the time to logon to Enrich (shocking, I know....had to look up my password) and just downloaded the payroll calendar that is currently on there. At the bottom it clearly states that the dates for 2014 Quarter 1 are Jan 1 to March 31. Am I missing something? I want these dates to still be correct as much as anyone...just wondering where the freakout came from. I'm sure someone will just say I'm naive....fine. ...

Unbelievable! I actually qualified for first quarter bonus at 100%. If I had not seen it with my own eyes I would not believe that anybody ever qualified for it. I am in total shock. It's almost the end of the quarter and just for the heck of it, I checked my post-audit Fiesa score today - I am well over 99% accuracy right now.  With about 10 days left in the quarter, what do you think the chances are that they will find enough reports to bring that percentage down below 99%......I would be curious to know how many of us right now have over 99% and how many will have it at the end of the quarter...... ...

The score for this quarter?  Mine is still showing my QA accuracy score exactly as it was prior to 09/30, which made me ineligible for the weekly production incentive bonus for the entire last quarter.  So now my "new" score for the quarter that ended 09/30 is 99.28%, which would mean I'm eligible for the weekly incentive bonus for this past week, right?  However, my Webclock timesheet shows the 98.64% score from before 09/30 and shows me with an incentive (Better Me Better W ...

I really hate to add to the conspiracy theories (as I generally just don't believe them), but I can't help but add to this one! The payroll calendar (that is shown in Enrich) shows the week start and end dates. The quarter in which a given week falls is highlighted by a different color for each quarter. The way it looks to me, they give me a target to hit over 4 days, which (I don't need the particulars of how they arrived at it, but I get them anyway) pretty much reflects my daily average.  Okay so now I work all day today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, making my average each day and THEN, at the end of Monday, if I'm able to get in another 100 lines, I will get 3 cents for those 100 lines???  So I work all day on my two days off for 3 dollars?  Have I got that straight ...
