DON'T FILL IT IN! - Tired MT

Okay, dictator is terrible. Had to send to QC. Please tell me how QC can fill in the blanks. NO WAY. I have been doing transcription for a long time. Why can they guess at what is said and we can't. If it isn't 100% clear, it should be left blank. QC shouldn't be able to fill in what the doctor "usually" says. If you can't hear it, DON'T FILL IT IN. Maybe if they got all of their reports back they would try to do a better job. This job is so stressful. If I go over 10% to QC that means I now make 7 cents a line for something that isn't even my fault. I don't know how much more I can take of this. I shouldn't be marked off for leaving blanks for words I cannot hear. Now new minimum line count is 150, which I don't know if I can reach. I wonder how many of us are able to meet that goal. Just more stress. I really think they want us to all quit so they can give all of the work to their MTs in India.

I have had that happen to me. QC just fills in what is on the normal even though what the doctor says is undecipherable. Also QC does not always follow the account specs. I left numerous blanks, according to the account specs. QC went and filled them in, not following the rules. TSM said as long as I did it right, I won't get in trouble. Well that's the answer? I follow the rules and QC does whatever they feel like? No accountability for QC whatsoever. They are so picky that we follow the specs, but don't even care that QC just throws them out the window? Disgusting.

This is disgusting and something else I find equally disturbing is when QC somehow manages to get reports paired up with an MLS that didn't even do that report. In FIESA, I accidentally did a search under a platform I don't work on and lo and behold there was a report that wasn't even mine! I know several others to whom this has happened and I find it absolutely outrageous. My TSM was unfazed by it and was just oh so happy that I pointed it out so the right MLS could get credit for the report (score was 100%). That's all well and good, but what about reports that are potentially having a negative impact? Particularly in situations like mine where it was under a completely different platform and only accidentally discovered. Are we supposed to check every platform every week (unpaid, as usual) to make sure QC hasn't once again messed up? I wonder if there are any consequences to this sort of CRITICAL ERROR for QC?

That is for straight typing, so not sure about VR.

Well, QC and QA get much much better audio quality than do the MLS. N has known this for YEARS. So, although you cannot decipher it, because QC and QA audio quality is much better, they can hear it.

IT has known this. The answer is ____ (nothing). They pretty much deny it.

Reason: When I go into versions on Enterprise and listen after the report has been sent, the totally unclear words are now crystal clear.

So, that's how they can fill in the blanks.

We were told if the voice quality is bad - mark as audio. that helps and doesn't count against you.

The only problem is that when they fill in the blanks it does count against you, no matter how bad the audio is.

I hate it when some dictators just mumble through parts of the review of systems or physical exam because they think because they say basically the same thing over and over, they don't have to even enunciate. It's like we're supposed to look up previous reports and assume they're saying the exact same thing, although it's not in any way decipherable when you listen to the audio.

Someone please set me straight if I'm wrong, but it is even possible for a child (or anyone) in any case to have a hematocrit of 340? Perusing the latest TSM diatribe too many work tickets means we need to change our schedule to one more fitting the needs of the accounts. Also if we fill out a work ticket we are not allowed to finish our current shift, we are done for the day. If we choose to make up those hours it has to be from a list of available shifts. So for the 50 cents or so I would get from filling out a work ticket why would I purposefully put a target on my back regarding schedule changes, end my shift prematurely ...

Well here we go again, fill in the gaps games in our POD. Nope, no way, and if they change my schedule one more time to any later in the day, I'm gone. Done playing their games.
