I applied to RI Unlimited 3 months ago and never heard back--should I reapply? I got emails saying that I passed everything and then they said I would hear back but never did. What is your advice? Thanks.
@Tara
Unfortunately, it is a fact of life that some companies do have preferences as to what schools their Newbies graduate from, and it is often hard to crack that nut.
For example, it has been written that (I do not know if this is still true as this list was compiled almost 2 years ago), the following companies (again this is mostly rumor and I cannot be held responsible for any errors because I did not compile this list and whoever did compile the list did not guarantee this to be true) will waive the 2 year experience requirement if you graduated from Career Step.

I am sure this is the list of usual suspects that Newbies contact all the time, but just in case a couple of these companies are not already on your radar, I have included the list. You will have to do a little research to make sure they are still hiring Newbies, but maybe one of these companies will be willing to offer you a job.
By the way, if you applied to any of these companies over 5 or 6 months ago, I would reapply again now. From the looks of the Job Seeker’s Board, there seems to be a little bit more activity lately, so maybe companies are looking again to hire. You never know when your resume or testing will hit the recruiter’s desk at just the right time.
Hope you find something soon. Try not to get discouraged – it took most of us a while to find that first job.
Good Luck
P.S.
@Tara – have you applied at InHealth? They seem receptive to Newbies and have not been beat up (YET) on MTStars. Might be worth a try if you have not already applied with them.
