When you apply for a job how much info sm - Looking

besides the resume do you add--how much selling of your skill, etc? Some companies won't open an attachment, so I get the feeling they don't want much more. My feeling is if they see the resume and want more info they will contact me, but never sure.

I list my education. I list previous jobs, years, and contacts necessary. This portion I would make brief, until I get to the MT experience. I would list places of employment, length of time, contacts, and exactly what kind of work you did, specialties, acute care, work types, and platforms. List them all!! Be a little verbose. List your previous pay, and the amount you are seeking. I would also list medical resources, possession of BOS, your computer info, and the equipment you have.

In other words, do they have all the information they need right there to hire you after you take a test, meaning references, they know your equipment, etc. I think they absolutely skip everything on your application, including education, and concentrate on your MT experience, trying to match it up with what they are looking for. JMO.

That part has nothing to do with their interest in you.

I would at least list computer system, type of internet, and if you have a C-phone, Laner, and/or types of footpedals. Because they like to know before they call you are at least compatible with their system and will be able to log on.

You're not supposed to be asking your fellow MTs for assistance on the job application process because that is CHEATING.

Likewise, any discussions here about transcribing verbatim or not on the test is also "asking fellow MTs for help" so is CHEATING.

Just ask 'em; they'll tell you.

Just want to be sure my fellow MTs are well informed. If you apply at Teletrak, be prepared to be offered 8 cpl for 65 VBC line - this amounts to approximately 30% reduction in pay with the negative spaces. I would totally be leery of this job. They are liars and cheats and are always wanting you to work your days off and over, but pay you NO OVERTIME!! THIS COMPANY SUCKS AND DOES NOT GIVE A RATS BEHIND ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES. I have worked there 4 years and never got a raise, much less any respect for the 21 years I have worked as an MT. Did anyone else apply to this company in the past few days? I took the test and was waiting for a response from the company. I went to their website where I tried to follow directions. They make it impossible. They ("Now Transcription") want you to fill out an application through "Accord Human Resources", then save it and email it to them along with your resume. But the application will not allow anyone to save it, or submit it anywhere as is. You basically waste your time filling it out just to find out nothing you filled out will be saved. I believe M Modal is the only place hiring part time that will allow satellite. I'm tired of hearing, "No, satellite is not compatible." Sooo.... Anyone have any advice?
