part time, 40/48 hours per pay - redmaj

I am restricted to 4 hours a day per my doctor. Does anyone know if you can work 40 hours instead of 48 per pay with dr note or can you be released-is there a law regarding this????? Anyone know??? Thanks ya'll.

That is odd. I work part time, and I was told I had to work 24 hours a week. I was not given a choice. I work 3 hours Mon, 6 Tues, 3 Wed, 6 Thurs, 3 Friday, and 3 Saturday. I would love to only work 20 hours a week.

Yep. I agree. I tried to get Saturday off, but she would not let me. I do not have 2 days in a row, which means I have to wait until Noon to go anywhere for the weekend.

I work short hours early Saturday and late Monday evening, so it's almost like having 3 days off. I get off Saturday morning and not have to go back until Monday night for a couple of hours, works for me.

Those of us who worked less than 24 hours a week prior to that rule being made were grandfathered in because they didn't want to lose us. I only work 15, but I'm consistent and the bulk of my work is done on the weekends, so they found that valuable and let me keep it, since the alternative was to lose me completely and have to make up 10 hours or more of weekend work.

Our hospital is being outsourced to MModal. The offers are supposedly there and ready but for some reason they haven't passed them on to us yet. I was wondering how many hours are required for part-time and if you can work a flexible shift. If I can work part-time with a split shift I may consider taking the offer.
