hi guys, i was just wondering if anyone on here worked @ spheris and now is with medquist? is it better. how are the hours now as opposed to w/spheris. i'm thinking of applying with medquist and was wondering if i should or get a new career LOL thanks for any info

I worked for Spheris for many years and continued to work for MQ after the takeover. Things got worse, not better. Work ran out constantly. Had to take a part-time job to make ends meet. Finally left MQ altogether and am still looking for another transcription company.

What difference does it make if they worked - for Spheris previously?

Why would it matter to you if the former Spheris people are happy with MQ?? Wouldn't you want to know from any MQ employee? Sorry, just seems like an oddly directed question to me.

As a disclaimer I am not a former Spheris so I can only make the observations as I see come across the board and from personal knowledge from friends of mine:
1. Apparently ex-Spheris employees are still on their same platform (Cornerstone)and their same accounts and many have their same managers, but the accounts are opened up for MQ MTs to work on too.
2. When bonuses are paid on weekend incentives ex-Spheris employees get their bonuses almost a month earlier than everyone else.
3. The ex-Spheris COO or CEO just got hired on at MQ.
4. As of January 1 we are switching to Spheris' payroll schedule and company (Ceridian) and being paid biweekly instead of bimonthly.
5. All ex-Spheris employees now have the wonderful joy of FTR and its paycheck docking abilities and got any bonuses or incentives taken away, just like the MQ people.

I know many Spheris people quit rather than be hired on by MQ, but some transitioned over and are hanging in there. It truly depends on your accounts and your CCM, which is the same for Spheris or MQ.

since the buyout. My pay got cut, I can't send with any blanks because of FTR, I lost my weekend differential, and the previously high work volumes on my account are very low most of the time now. Just hanging on, barely, until I can find something else.

I was just curious about what employees thought of Nuance on Glassdoor. You read several US employee opinions and they reflect the morale listed on MTStars. Scroll further down and read the opinions of the transcriptionists from India. What a difference. They are highly satisfied with their jobs and most have been working with Nuance for 6 to 7 years. Hey Spheris MTs out there. I worked for Spheris for a while not too long ago but quit for another company. Nothing wrong with Spheris at all, just love the new company flexibility much, much more. I loved the expander program Spheris used (Shorthand 10.0) so much that I ended up buying the program to use on my new job.
