I am curious to know if you got any responses to your emails.

I'm having a conference call at 4 today with my CCM, MW (I think MTStars doesn't allow names on this site), and the director of the North Region. I am asking that they have a web cast with ALL of us in the future as we ALL have these same complaints! Asked to work specific hours, yet not enough work. Asked to make it up later, or take PTO, or take no pay. If we are hired full time and there is not enough work to give us, then WHY is it being sent overseas? So ridiculous. We don't earn enough PTO to keep using it up for downtime. And I refuse to sit here morning, noon and night and pray for a job to keep popping up just to get my time in.

They should be forced to use PTO when we have no work, that way they would understand what we have to deal with.

Be prepared for them not to let you get a word in otherwise and for them to somehow turn this around as your fault. You used an inappropriate tone in your email or you should have not replied to all and you should have discussed this with your TSM and followed the chain of command. I am sure words like insubordination will come up and they will try to get you to quit because it is obvious you are so unhappy. Of course they will tell you that no one else is unhappy and you are the only one who has a problem. They will go on the offense rather than address the real issues of overstaffing, sending all the work to India and the plain fact that they have very unhappy employees. Oh and don't expect your TSM to back you up even though she knows you are right. They will all gang up on you and wring their hangs with what to do with such a problem child.

I hope you keep your job and I admire your courage. Let us know how it goes.

funny. Don't forget they tell you if you don't like it leave and then put a write-up in your folder. I am collecting them. They don't tell you everyone else is unhappy, just that they really don't care and that this is the way of the industry and if you don't like it, leave.

If JG did not get written up and it is just a phone call, it will be them telling you how great the VR is and that they are doing all they can to improve it and to improve things for us and it is not going to change because this is the way of the industry. Been there, done that in 2 conversations with 2 different biggies in 2 years. Funny, we are still waiting for the VR to get better and things for us to get better. I guess we do have BOOST though, that really helps. LOL

Thanks for the friendly vote of confidence, NOT! Don't worry, I'm expecting the worst. If I don't get fired, then I'm sure they will just try to placate me, try to calm me down and hope I go away. However, I'm fighting for ALL of us. It's funny how I get SO many words of encouragement, but there always have to be those few . . .

keep your job and we will try to address your concerns, but no more posting on MT Stars. It is time for someone(s) else to step up and continue what she started. Where are the other members of JG's BOB that received the forwarded email from the VP and then the "reply to all" response from JG? This spark will die unless others are brave enough to fan it. Truth be known, the suits are amazed that we have not organized by now. They have been allowing for the possibility for a few years now. Their friend has been out relative isolation being we work at home. Maybe an MT site on Facebook would be a good thing to bring together more MTs? I am retired now, not by choice, so I don't have a financial stake in the game anymore but would do anything I could to help current MTs fight the people who now control the profession.
JG is still posting on MTStars - they can't take - away her right to free speech.

I had one of these calls not too long ago with my TSM and her boss in the north (NT) for what they called an inappropriate email. They called it insubordination and wrote me up. By telling you my experience with exactly the same people somehow that equates as not encouraging? If it were me I would want to know what to expect. They both just ganged up on me and never let me get a word in and spun everything as my fault. I apologize if you thought I was coming across as not supportive, that was not my intent. I just wanted you to have your talking points ready so you could do a better job of stating your case than I did with mine.

right, they will try to make it your fault. Mine were unprofessionalism. It really doesn't matter what you say, they have it in their mind they are writing you up and they will, if not for what the call was about, they will find something else, like they have with me. I still don't know what this email was that she got. I got an invitation to a discussion about a write-up. If this is just a call, they could be trying to scare you so you won't do it again. Anyway, on my write-up calls, they all blabbed for 35 minutes and then gave me 5 to say what I had to say and I got a lot in in that 5 minutes. Just don't cuss or threaten and you'll be fine.

Several posts asked if she herself got an email from VP or was she just repeating what her abbreviation said the VP said. JG never said she herself got the email.

Even if JG just was told by her abbreviation what VP supposedly said, it is still good the JG responded. Even if she was responding to abbreviation lie that VP was upset.

Will they up the ante when it comes to harrassment? (Trying to make you quit). Of course. It's their standard M.O. My company is trying like crazy to get me to quit. But I've dug my heels in, and I refuse. I'm also not afraid to tell them like it REALLY is. They're not stupid, they KNOW how it really is. They know that smart people who see through their threats and their crap are a threat to their medical transcription shell game.
I think we have a pretty good idea what side of - the fence those few are on.

she wasn't trying to intimidate, but to make JG aware of what she might be up against,since she'd been through it herself recently. With the exact same people, she said. And realistically, it is entirely possible that JG is going to be disciplined for insubordination.

It's amazing how quickly a person with little left to lose can grow a pair and begin calling these companies and their illegal employment practices out. I've reached that point, too, as, I'm sure, have thousands of other MTs. Imagine if all of us started standing up to these MTSOs. If they want to call it "insubordination", let them. I call it a free education that they're choosing to ignore.

I just think there's a right way to handle complaints and a nastily phrased email sent reply all is not the way to do it, but I'm glad for JG that it all worked out okay. I don't think the NT guy heard anything new but at least she didn't get in trouble.

HERE'S THE ENTIRE STORY - fed up

Okay, let me get this story out there so everyone doesn't speculate. My CCM forwarded an email from the US Operations VP who is upset that we are putting in OOW tickets during the week and then we dont have good TAT on the weekends. It was sent to her entire BOB, not just me, and it wasn't sent from just him to just me. I responded to everyone in her BOB just saying how unfair it is that we are scheduled to work and yet there is no work for us to do and yet they outsource so much work while expecting us to either use PTO, or take no pay or sit here morning, noon and night 24/7 and wait for work to appear.

Occasionally when I'm doing an ASR report and insert a QA marker the yellow cursor marker will go away and the cursor goes to the end of the report.  Then I have to scroll back through the report to find my place and if I lift my foot off the foot pedal it happens again.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  It's irritating on a really long report.  TIA. ...

That is when I got a new CSM and they said they were "restructuring" and some CSMs were going to deal only with MTs and some only with customers.  My new CSM said her old MTs were always running out of work because THEY said the average MT could do "x amount" of dictation and most of hers could do twice that, and so when she got the "new-to-her" MTs and accounts, then we all started running out of work. ...

As stated in my previous post, I have been typing all new accounts for the last 2 weeks with no training whatsoever. I got a "critical error" report back because of the number of blanks I had put into the report and sent directly to the client.
