Using the attached cursor, does anyone actually get it to stop in the right place? - how do you do it? nm

I don't use it. Try turning it off and I bet you will - like it better off

You stop it by hitting any key. Then you use the arrow keys to move to where you need to be. It is faster than doing it manually, just have to master a new skill. Then you use the key commands to reattach or move the cursor to where you are and then reattach and continue. Better to not stop playback as that really messes with where it goes. I have been working at learning this set of commands and it is helping my line count some but I do need the training & they can't seem to get around to helping me out at all. I will argue with my dying breath though that whoever decided that you could edit and make any money at a reduce rate is definitely not on the side of the transcriptionist. We were really sold a bill of goods with this crap.

I couldn't get that to satisfactorily either - same as cursor tracking, never stops where I want it.

I do use Ctl arrows, but that gets really wearing on the hands doing that repetitively and seems to take just as much, or more, time than using the mouse as, to do those hand contorsions, my hands are not on the home key anyways. I moved mouse to the left of the keyboard, so it takes no more distance than contorting my fingers for their shortcut key combinations.

Basically, the editing time depends ENTIRELY on the quality of the ASR output, but they don't care. They would rather try to beat us MTs over the head with useless tips and statistics such as gross and net time (i.e., time if you never had to pause to correct or make any corrections), rather than get on the tail of IT who are the real problem because they can't make it work (even if MM's expections for them are unreasonable too).

I do use the Ctl shift M because it gets me in the ballpark. I'm an MME and surprise surprise we're supposed to be able to jump to QA markers but that no longer always works and sometimes it just puts us at the beginning of the document. Of course Ctl shift M doesn't work with straight transcription reports, those we have to guess and guess until we get to the right spot. Another thing that really slows me down is there are a lot of standards with headings in one of my major hospitals but they haven't entered the headings in those standards in the heading list so the spellcheck stops on every one, sometimes a dozen a report, which really slows the spell checking down. That, it seems to me, should only take someone a couple of hours to do but they'd rather spend the time on adding that chart for watching your productively. It's like they really don't care about increasing your productivity they just want to pretend to.

Does anyone out there know how to get the voice cursor to move to the word cursor on EditScript. Mine appears to be stuck at the very beginning of the document I am working on (not in the top header, but in the body). My ALT keys won't move it, and I can't get it to move in the editing toolbar either. I'd like to know how to dislodge it from the beginning of the body. Any suggestions would be VERY helpufl!! Does anyone know if there's a way when you used your control+arrow (lt/rt) key to skip over a word, if there's some way I can arrange it so the cursor ends up at the end at the word instead of at the beginning of the next word? While reviewing a report, I use my right arrow key to follow along and it is moving very slowly and seems to stop at every single letter even with keeping my finger on the arrow button. Does anyone know how to make the cursor just move and not stop at every letter. I know you can hit Control plus arrow key to make it go faster, but that speeds it up super fast. Hello, I work for a local cardiology group and we use Nuance with Dragon (EXtext). I was wondering if there is a way to have the cursor move along automatically while I have the foot pedal down so I do not have to take my right hand off the keyboard to move the cursor with the right arrow button. MQ has made big changes to my primary account. Now things are all messed up and because of it, we have to re-enter redundant information in the ADT screen. For example, it says ADT Attending and ADT Admitting with the doc's names.
