Too funny...just had an ARNP that dictated...smg - Fossil

Posted: Jul 23, 2012

"The patient has an RV systolic pressure of 25 millimeters of hemoglobin."  (meaning, of course, mmHg).

Lordy, where do they get these people?  Well, at least it gave me a badly needed chuckle.

too typical! ACK! - ARNPs can make me nuts

I always think they must be pretty or rich, since not knowing what you are talking about usually does not garner a good clinical position.

Too bad the account wasn't strict verbatim. - sm

I would've typed it as dictated and put the error in quotes, just to draw everyone's attention to it.

I loathe the dictators who dictate like they're gods, treating us MTs like we're nothing. Verbatim accounts can be total payback, baby!

My acct is verbatim but I can't bring myself to type this . . . - anon

"he is cooking more at home now instead of eating MEDICATION out."

She pauses before she even says it and then just goes on like it makes sense.

Seriously, docs are bad but NPs, PA's, etc., are 1000 times worse. Not necessearily for being bad "talkers" but just for having no stinking clue what they are talking about.

Should We Change The Dictated Layout Of The Report?
Dec 27, 2011

This seems crazy asking this while taking the final exam, but this layout seems spitefully incorrect. A few chapters back, it stated "going forward with the course, transcribe the report layout exactly how the dr. dictates it". In this final exam, its an operative report and she has the pre-op and post-op diagnosis' at the end of the report! Should I put them at the beginning where they have been with all the other reports we were given? So confused! ...

Transcribed As Dictated On Verbatim Account
