just saying... look..I don't begrudge any of these business school graduates their right to validate their jobs by writing ridiculous nonsensical doublespeak tomes to impress their market share holders..but in the end this is a simple business which they have ruined.
The docs dictate the crap
We type the crap
We send the crap back
And it's available to view.
How this information is managed and accessed of course improves with technology, but Medquist or MModal, or Dolly Parton TITscription is what is because of WE the MTs. We are their labor force, a profession that is production work, yet we are not set up as such (clock in???), we have no incentive or commission, we are held to impossible 99% standards that NO OTHER profession on the earth is held to.
I was ROGLMAO reading that completely ridiculous corporate dingy.
I would clean house so fast, I would pay top dollar to keep TOP MTs on-board who would make STARTING salaries based on production of 50,000 on up. I would require way more LPH and have reasonable QA at 97%..and I mean REASONABLE...pertaining to medical information, lab values, and clearly MTs who care about their work. This means many MTs, sadly would not be able to work here, they could not cut it. AND I would BURN the stupid timeclock. MTs agree to a timeframe schedule and their work better be done in that timeframe..I do not care if it takes you 30 minutes or 8 hours to get your production in.
Of course ventually VR and EMR and what hospitals agree is acceptable (have you ever seen an EMR generated report not edited?? I have..they are laughable..different fonts, standard phrasing)..but whatever..if the medical profession agrees this is acceptable..then that is the way it will go..BUT UNTIL THEN...we should be making what we deserve.
Maybe that would understand it if I put it this way:
Due to obvious lack of infrastructure support leading to breakdown in individual productivity and work-based morale, Dolly Parton TITscription will immediately institute fair compensation for the true genus of the revenue-producing work force. Effective forthwith, US-based MTs and editors will be compensated at LPH rate commisurate with production and expertise. This decision was based on two facts:
1. They deserve it.
2. We would not be able to transcribe our way out of a corporate retreat in Boca Raton.
