Thanks (NOT) to whomever threw this 20 minute job - report back in the pool after

Posted: Nov 05, 2010

muddling through part of it with umpteen blanks.  Now I can send it to QA because of a zillion blanks because this doctor can't speak loud enough or clear enough and I can run the risk of being docked.

Yeah I get those little gifts too. Always want - to give a special little

thank you also!!!!

I refer to that "someone" as "Dumper." I can tell it's the same person because he/she incorrectly formats the text every time. What's worse is that there are mistakes that would be considered critical errors. Why does he/she still have a job here?

I don't mind getting the abandoned jobs because I know I can do a better job than the person who abandoned it, I also understand their panic when they don't understand word #1 of what is being dictated, and hopefully they will go back in and read the finished report while re-listening to the dictation and learn something in the process. ...and if not I'm sure they will get theirs when audit time comes around.

I LOST several big jobs yesterday with the DQS system being up and down. I work on a couple of accounts where there are consistently large, long reports with cotton mouthed docs, but I've learned the tricks and get through them quickly.

I don't complain about work though. At this point work is work. If I have trouble with a job, I contact my QA for help and get help. I rarely send through work to QA, because we work as a team. There are plenty of samples in the repository and if we request them we generally get them.

I certainly didn't throw any of my work back into the pool! Sorry if it was because the SYSTEM WAS QUIRKY yesterday.

You actually have a QA that will speak to you? - MtLoser

I didn't think the company had that service any longer!! You are very lucky indeed!

I actually do! My CCM and QA and whole team are GREAT.

I wish they'd run the whole show for all of you in Q-ville.

I lost several jobs yesterday also.

PPl on this board complain when there is no work AND when there is work.

I also don't complain or bang my head on the keyboard when a job is put back in the pool. First of all, I have NO IDEA why it was abandoned, and secondly, I HAVE WORK!

I don't know how someone could tell it's the "same person" doing this either. Format or not.

((blast away, I know you're gonna say, poor audio, mush-mouthed dictator, ESL, "i had to submit to QA with a bizillion blanks..." ))

Read it all over and over. I'm getting back to work now while there is work to do, maybe someone has put some jobs back into the pool for me!

How does this happen? I thought if you abandoned - a job, it started back from

[ In Reply To ..]
zero -- like it had not been typed at all. How do you throw back a half-typed report and get the dictation to stay on there?

re: wondered that too - dabny

[ In Reply To ..]
I wondered that too. I also agree with the above, I don't mind at all. Work is work. Times are lean!

Still there - MtLoser

[ In Reply To ..]
Everything you typed including ADT is still there when you abandon a job, you simply don't get monetary credit for it.

Took me over 90 minutes to do this job. - Bad sound,

[ In Reply To ..]
mush mouth, accent. I finally got it down to only 4 blanks. It was the end of my shift and I was worn out, and I think I forgot to check the QA box.

We've been told the client has been complaining about blanks, well let them try to do those reports! I'm sure, back in the days when they had it in house, there were just as many blanks even if there were extra ears to listen.

I get tired of our skills being down played, but no matter how frustrated I get about that, intrinsically I can't back off my internal standard of performance. In good conscience, I could never short change the patient's care.

re: bad sound - starr

[ In Reply To ..]
Really, 90 minutes? I'd never put that much time into a job when time is money. I'd send it with blanks through to the client and a note that said "inaudible". One job to QA isn't gonna break you. 90 minutes wasted on crud will.

I didn't want to put up with consequences if QA succeeded. - Path of least resistance.

[ In Reply To ..]
Because of client complaints, CCM is calling those with a lot of blanks and QA succeeding in getting the blanks (or at least seeming to - they don't always get it right, i.e. at times what they put doesn't make sense.

I get sucked in by "winning" the battle of the blank :) I've heard from QATL before when she was able to fill in a report, but I really doubt what was written since QA had left swiss cheese on that report too. They only thing I could possibly believe is the QATL must have found a report to copy in the patient's record. I'm not too trusting of anybody who can rattle my cage in this company.

Whomever Is Entering Docs Into ADT Should Be Held Accountable. Sm
Mar 22, 2011

I have been here with MQ 4ever it seems.  Today, I just need to rant.  It seems that for the last week or so ASR has gotten WORSE, leaving out words and still not changing terms which have been repeatedly "corrected" by me.  It is not "learning".  Of course, I guess this means job security.    But, the next rant I have is how many ways can someone enter a docs credentials and initials in?   Constantly leaving out the periods after the middle initials ...

Please Stop Transcribing "STENT STYLE" POLYP, Whomever You Are
Mar 05, 2012

As an MT, it just aggravates me to no end to see the same mistakes transcribed over and over by transcription service MTs, or left unedited by VR MTs, and to have no way to inform that MT about the error.  Some MTSOs, you know, aren't responsive.  It isn't as if they provide a complaint hotline. Decided not to post this in the word help forum, since I am not asking for help with a word.  Kind of the opposite.  I wouldn't think this MT would be asking for help, ...

I Had A 10 Minute Report And....
Dec 14, 2009

only got 37 lines from it.  This nutter dictating kept putting me on hold (with the worst music) every section of the report so he could look it up in the patient's chart!  I hate it when they do that stuff!  There would be no way I would go to this guy as a patient.  Anyone who is that unorganized is not going to operate on me!   Breathing deeply now, rant over. ...

I Have Been Told Nothing About The 15 Minute Pay

New 6-minute Rule-sm
Aug 14, 2013

When you get NJA you have the 3 options as we did before.  When you choose to "make up time", at the very end of the explaination, it says something along the line of entering a leave request on teamwork for excused no pay?  This only makes sense if in fact you cannot or do not make up the time, but the policy does not explain it that way.  Example:  You work 2 hours and get NJA.  You have 6 hours to make up and can only make up 4.  The remaining 2 hours must be en ...

A 12 Minute Report Vanished
