Woohoo! Got the job offer today. At long last I am out of transcribing. I feel such relief I cannot even believe it. No more production pay at poverty rate. No more frustration of broken promises.

For those of you staying, I really do hope the latest promises of hearing you and making changes will be kept.

And for those of you who keep saying quit whining and do something about it if you are unhappy, venting doesn't mean we aren't doing anything about it, it is just nice to be able to vent to somebody who gets it.

You go girl/guy - gives me hope to see this as I am actively looking - nm

Always nice to hear somebody made it out! And out of transcription altogether, so you can't just get bought out by MModal a year or two down the road! Very happy for you.

Definitely agree with your comment on venting too. Some people do seem to believe that after posting a negative comment about our company, we spend the rest of the day crying and sitting on our butts. Considering we get paid production and we haven't starved would indicate otherwise.

Work is rarely fun, but it definitely shouldn't feel like a death march:)

This certainly fills me with hope that I can get out of here too one day.

I'm always glad to hear it when someone else makes it out by moving on to another, hopefully better paying, job. Jumped ship myself last fall after being sold out, 2 pay cuts, loss of bonuses, account disappearing, well ya'll know how it is. I don't know if where I'm at is where I'll stay, but I get paid a decent salary PLUS commission, and feel very positive about my future. Do I miss being a transcriptionist - yes? But life has gone on, and my bills are getting paid on time again!!!

Wow, all day today and yesterday I have been getting actual transcribe jobs, not ASR!!! Whuppeeeee!!!! This ol gal is relishing the respite for a while. I know it won't last long. I just got an eleven-minute dictation that I actually had the pleasure of transcribing as opposed to doing speech recognition on it. The dictator was perfect!! He spoke at a regular rate, not too fast and not too slow. His thoughts were organized and he enunciated his words clearly. I just typed my little heart out on that one and loved every minute of it!!!! Why can't it always be like that??? <Sigh> ...

After working for MQ for nearly 5-1/2 years, I'm finally leaving. The first 5 years were great! Then they decided to force QAs to do transcription and ASR. If I wanted to transcribe I would have applied for an MT job. Not to mention the fact that I was making close to $16 an hour and now this has been reduce to around $11 and sometimes under $8. I'm giving notice that I'm quitting very soon! I made good money until the last year or so and I'm leaving this job that I find boring and lonely (and now doesn't even pay well). Judging from some of the recent posts below, there looks to be an exodus of sorts from MModal and MT in general. I have joined that group. I left MModal last month to pursue another at-home job NOT IN MT with flexible schedule, hourly pay, and pays substantially more than what I made at MModal. Don't know what took me so long to "take the plunge" away from MT.
