After working for MQ for nearly 5-1/2 years, I'm finally leaving. The first 5 years were great! Then they decided to force QAs to do transcription and ASR. If I wanted to transcribe I would have applied for an MT job. Not to mention the fact that I was making close to $16 an hour and now this has been reduce to around $11 and sometimes under $8. It's MQs loss. It's too bad they don't treat their valuable employees better. I just love the way they post their million dollar contracts on MQ Central, but yet couldn't afford to give raises in January or match our 401K contributions. Anyway, good luck to everyone else! I would love to hear any other MMEs opinion!

lasts that long that is). I too plummeted to under 8$ for a while due to 100% QA of ESL and difficult doctors. I have had entire shifts of 100% QA with no reports to fill in the blanks and sometimes hit 5$ an hour. But now I've been getting more of a mixed bag of reports and I cheer out loud when I get to 13$ an hour.. maybe 16 or 18 or 20 will soon come ? Good luck. (I already have a full-time job, MQ is my part-time, so this is why I can "afford" the minimum wage paychecks. If it were my full-time job, that would not be possible)

Good for you. I decided when I was forced to become an MME that I would be open-minded about it However, I have been making about half of what I used to. I should have known when MQ sent out the "personal earnings model" stating that I could make $23/hr something wasn't right. They wouldn't even give me a 25 cent an hour raise and they expected me to believe I could make almost $10/hr more?? lol - I too am looking for another job. I need an hourly rate, at least I know what I am consistently getting each week.

In my region, QA reports have really gone down (I hardly get any anymore). The MMEs who were formerly MTs seem to be doing fairly well with the change. I can relate to the "personal earnings model" as well. Mine noted $37/per. Ha!!

All QAs did not have a choice since the QA position was ommitted. We were made to feel like we were privileged to get an MME position without taking a test - Ha, what a joke!

MQ does not care - Hopeless

MQ doesn't care about wages. In fact, they have job listings all over internet about hiring new MTs/MMEs. Your $11 or $8 an hour is higher than some of us making minimum wage or below. MQ is still shorting line counts and getting away with it. This is happening for MTs, MMEs, QA, and even QTL's are having to transcribe and do VSR. Our QTL said she is having trouble responding to emails because of this responsibility. We are making less and less, with no positive changes. Look at how AHDI got the court settlement. This was a jolting right hook to MTs/MMEs. MQ does not care. If they could pay us 10 cents an hour that would be okay with Medquist. THEY JUST DON'T CARE and that's the bottom line.

MT all day because of carpal tunnel, so not only am I in pain, but my pay has been cut basically in half. I've been desperately trying to find something else out there... I want out!

Judging from some of the recent posts below, there looks to be an exodus of sorts from MModal and MT in general. I have joined that group. I left MModal last month to pursue another at-home job NOT IN MT with flexible schedule, hourly pay, and pays substantially more than what I made at MModal. Don't know what took me so long to "take the plunge" away from MT.
