TAA guidelines - MayraMM

According to US DOL, "To obtain TAA or ATAA services and benefits, a group of workers must first file a petition with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Trade Adjustment Assistance (OTAA) requesting certification as workers adversely affected by foreign trade. If certified, each worker in the group may then apply separately for individual services and benefits through their local One-Stop Career Center. Workers age 50 and older who are certified as eligible to apply for both TAA and ATAA may choose whether to participate in the TAA program or the ATAA program, but may not participate in both."

So have these layoffs been certified as applicable to TAA guidelines yet, and if not, how do we as a group spread across the country do this?

I'll ask my attorney Monday and let everyone know, in case they're interested, but I'm also pursuing other avenues.

I'm getting emails in general, but if anyone wants to see about somehow applying as a group for TAA, then please email me and we'll see what we can do.

has a box to search my petition number. Underneath you can do an advanced search and type in company name and it will bring up petition if you don't know the number.

This is the kind of information we need. Some people are still stunned. Some are hurt. Some, like me, are really mad. All of us need to find alternatives. I'm 50 years old with carpal tunnel and arthritis from the job, and a pending dx of cyclic Cushing's. Not exactly #1 on an employer's list of qualities in an employee. Although I did ace all the TSA tests . . . O_o

Well, I have read a couple of e-mails from corporate today. I do not know about anyone else, but they are as clear as mud. Don't these people have anything better to do than set these guidelines? I know a hospital where the transcription was free style and when MQ took over THEY decided to have one format. Like it changes anything. Talk about control freaks! ...

Has everyone gotten the e-mail about the new QC/QA guidelines with regards to FIESA. Apparently there are either some brave souls willing to complain to their TSM's and such, or management is actually reading this board (and not just clicking dislike on everything).
