Question! How many MTs are getting QA/MME feedback? - Every other day? Once a week, once a month, NEVER
Posted: Feb 13, 2010
I seem to be getting checked by MME/QA every fourth day for the last week. What does that mean? Will it always be like? I thought it would be once a month.
Not sure what you are saying about - "getting checked." ?
[ In Reply To ..]
You don't get "checked" by MME unless you are on 100% review or if you leave a QA marker for the MME.
QC does auditing. Maybe you are getting audited by the QC person?
QC and MME are two different positions.
QC will audit you and give you your audit score.
MME does not score or audit, just fills blanks, gives feedback, and reviews the entire report if you are on 100% review or if the client or doctor who you transcribed is 100% review.
None of my reports were sent to QA. - Getting checked.

When I check my line count, statistics, I see QA feedback. Every few days, I get a report, but mainly 2 reports that come back. The reports do not have audit scores, so I am guessing it is MME. They are from 4 different accounts I type.
I feel like I am GETTING CHECKED on my reports and just wondering if this is how it is going to be, every 3-4 days, getting reports sent back to me with an error because the doctor states, "that will" and it is corrected with the "that" taken out and so on. I do appreciate feedback very much, but also very 3 days and getting feedback for little things is so downgrading demoralizing and feeling of no self-worth to the point I just want to throw in the towel.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF I AM 100% REVIEW? I asked my QA person (forgot what they are called) and she said no I wasn't, even though I received a 97.2%. So is this just a common thing then? MME checking my work every 3 days?
Are you leaving QA markers in the reports with - feedback?
AGain, the MME gets your report only if you are 100% review, the dictator is 100% review, the client is 100% OR if you leave a QA marker.
They don't go to the MME otherwise.
But the QATL or QC or whatever they are called now can pull a report at any time.
Nope. Not one report to QA. I usually get the tough blanks - that QA cannot pick up. I was told that.
[ In Reply To ..]
Yet I am getting feedback from 4 different MMEs.
Not sure how that is happening. MMEs cannot just - grab a report and give feedback
[ In Reply To ..]
unless it comes to them for the reasons above.
I would talk to you QATL about that.
Something strange is certainly going on.
Not sure what you mean about getting the tough blanks that QA cannot pick up? So, are you an MME? How are you getting reports with tough blanks in them to fill in?
I think I am missing something here.
Again, call your QATL and let her know about this.
Thanks for answering. - Put an email in. No message below

it can be determined that you usually get the tough blanks that QA cannot pick up.
Customer team leader who is now MME - Told me

Months back, CTL called me (now CTL positions do not exist anymore) and I was told congratulations, I am on a special list for being able to get difficult blanks. My reports hardly ever go to QA and when I do leave blank, QA cannot fill the blank in either.
Then 2 weeks later, I received a corporate email and a week a later a letter in the mail stating, "Congratulations for being a special MT and being on a special list." Something like that. Nothing came out of it, just that they were trying to get me to become an MME.
Yet, I have been receiving feedback from 3 MMEs so far with reports I have done. A couple reports were no remarks. Some others had 2 remarks. One had to do with capitalizing NO KNOWN ALLERGIES. I type 5 different accounts and 2 accounts want ALLERGIES CAPITALIZED and the others do not and it gets confusing for me going from one account to the other. SORRY ABOUT THAT!
Anyway, thanks for answering my posts. I have a email sent into my QTCL about this.

that's where they run statistics on QA submission rate and whether you pass your audit. It doesn't have to do with whether you can fill in blanks that QA can't, it just has to do with whether you send your reports to QA or not.
So,. Ah Ha is a joke! - Letter
[ In Reply To ..]
Letter never stated whether you send your reports to QA or not, it stated QA cannot fill in the blanks I leave for them. So, become an MME. Ha!
So it is a joke. Frankly, medical transcription as a profession is a joke. Went to college and received an AA degree in this field 25 years ago. Gone back to school to do something of more self-worth. Trying to find out what my passion/purpose in life is and it certainly is not sitting at a desk with a ball and chain to it. Kids moving out and starting their own life and so am I.
Thanks for taking the time posting. I appreciate it!
Okay, this isn't sounding right - right
[ In Reply To ..]
You said that you can get the blanks that QA can't fill in. It very well could be that QA can't get the blanks that you leave. QA not being able to get the blanks that you leave is not what you said.
"I usually get the tough blanks that QA cannot pick up. I was told that" does not translate into "QA cannot get the blanks that I leave for them."
That is what CTL stated to me on the phone. - I did not know what she meant by that.

Your guess is as good as mine. Do not get it either. Sorry for the confusion.
Misunderstanding - obviously

Either she stated it incorrectly or you misunderstood what she said.
Why do you take a correction so personally? - Fact is, you forgot to do

something ( in this case, capitalize allergies).
The MME has a job to do. Their job is to make sure the reports are as close to 100% correct as possible. If they see the allergies section not capitalized, it is their job to capitalize it. We were told in a conference call that it is a good idea to leave a note for MT explaining why we changed what we changed and if applicable to suggest where MTs could have found the same information and -- yes -- let them know if it was easily findable or not ! so that next time they might take a little more time to look for something rather than just giving up and leaving it for us to do. (We are paid more than 30% less than the MT, remember, and sometimes I'm pretty sure we spend about the same amount of time on the report that they did.)
(For instance -- we can give links to websites for doctors of a given hospital or for cities in a state or for names of LTCFs in a state, or the appropriate section in the BOS or CP or MQ Standards and guidelines. )
We do not know if you are a brand new hire straight out of school or someone who has been doing 5 accounts for 20 years and therefore sometimes finds her work "confusing" -- and it does not matter ! What matters is the end result and that we caught something that needed to be corrected and we corrected it. Instead of getting all defensive ("Sorry about that!" ) a better reaction might be: "Ooops ! Glad the MME caught that rather than the client. Guess I need to put a yellow sticky on my wall to remind me to check to make sure I capitalized my allergy sections."
The main problem I'm seeing whenever I visit this board is that everyone seems to think this is a personal thing, MME vs. MT/ME. MMEs are also MTs/MEs. We also do reports and send in and get MME feedback on them if we leave blanks or make errors. I have gotten some feedback I did not agree with. For instance, another MME replaced my commas with a strange mixture of colons and semi-colons in a single line of text with only 2 words between each semicolon! I didn't agree with that. But that's ok -- the report can be pulled up in its pre-MME version and its post-MME version. I also had feedback on spacing--sometimes I had either 3 spaces or 1 space instead of the required 2. I didn't take that personally -- it's supposed to be 2 spaces. And yes -- I put a sticky on my monitor stating: CHECK SPACING. So hopefully I won't get feedback on that particular thing again.
I never said I am taking it personally. - Thanks for your post!

I appreciate the feedback, just wondering why a couple of reports end up coming back every 2-3 days. That is it!
Found out I am not 100% performance managed. A post up above said it was NOT normal and I should ask and so I did.
THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO MMEs. Please do not take this personal! Just wondering and I do appreciate the feedback very much!!!!!!!!!

Please understand that the MMEs aren't being petty when they correct things like the capitalization under "Allergies," and other edits. The client has preferences and it is part of our job description to look at the profile and know what we need to do. The client needs to be happy or none of us will have jobs.
PLEASE, GET THIS STRAIGHT! I AM NOT MAD - WHAT YOU DO IS NOT PETTY!
[ In Reply To ..]
Just wondering why I was getting feedback from MME if I was not 100% managed. THAT IS ALL. One post above stated it was not normal unless it was an account or a certain dictator or I left a QA.
That is all I asked. Just wondering if others were getting feedback every few days and wondering why.
Since I keep getting responses like I am mad or think it is petty getting feedback, I guess MMEs just pick a bunch of random reports and check on them. I was just wondering.
GEE, I APPRECIATE THE FEEDBACK, OKAY?
Audited by QATL about 9 reports per week - mt
[ In Reply To ..]
with percentages, sometimes all in the same day or in the same hour.
I thought it was going to be once a month too. I never get a total summary by email like we used to years ago, but the scores show up in DQM and you can see your overall percentage rate at the bottom depending on how many days you put in at a time.
I'm not on 100%. I think my QATL just likes to audit frequently. Sometimes it's random reports that didn't go to QA and other times it's all reports sent to QA and sometimes a mix. You won't see the random reports not sent to QA unless you run a search for a certain time period in the QA feedback search bar.
I thought they were called QC now? - I cannot keep up.
[ In Reply To ..]
I can't keep up with these initials, but I thought my former QATL has QC in her closing on her emails now.
Are they still QATL?
I am probably just having a brain burp? Didn't we used to have QC?
I don't know anymore, it is mind boggling.
Thanks.
No idea - mt
[ In Reply To ..]
That's what they were called the last time I checked. The QC box has been gone for a long time and the QC people cleared out or turned into QA or MMEs or whatever.
As far as I know, there is only one person in our BOB authorized to do audits/percentages on a report and as far as I know he/she is the Quality Assurance Team Leader. Other people checking the reports, but not grading/leaving percentages behind are the MMEs.
So my understanding is for every BOB there is:
(1) Supervisor - does everything
(1) QATL -audits/percentages reports/QA
(countless) MMEs - QA
1 CCM Customer Care Manager/1 QC (Quality - Coach). No QATL. NM

before they split us off to this smaller group of 4 hospitals.
Frankly, I think if you get a passing score 2 times in a row, they should let you go for a year before they audit you again.
They seriously must think this work makes us braindead.

You're supposed to get MME feedback with every report if a change has been made that goes beyond "fill in the blank."
I got feedback on a report today, CRITICAL FEEDBACK. The doctor dictating was absolutely horrible, worse than horrible. I could not understand him, tried my hardest and before I uploaded it sent a note to QA asking for a sample of his work, explained that I could NOT UNDERSTAND HIM.
In reviewing the revisions, I don't agree with many of them. I still don't hear what the QA inserted. I dont' agree with it and I'm angry that it was returned to me with C ...
I'm so happy! I got my audit, passed with flying colors and got an email from sup saying good work and keep it up! He also suggested that I submit for a raise since I've been consistent. I said I didn't know that we could, but apparently we can if we maintain that 98% average consistently for a certain amount of time. I'm submitting my request as it has been over a year that I have maintained this.

Hello,
I am a service owner slowly losing my accounts to EMR. I am interested in partnering with an EMR company who uses a transcription service, but can't seem to get my foot in the door. Thanks and good luck!

I started with MModal a month or so ago and I am noticing that MME feedback is not consistent. One will cross out dictation in the document that another will leave (like service or surgeon or primary doc).
Also, "myself/himself/herself" should not be changed? I have to admit that one was a shock. It is just soooooo wrong. ...
If you are working on the account from the tiniest state in New England, how do you like it? Dictators, work types, etc. I have been offered it as my secondary. I work part time for 2 companies. One company usually has plenty of work. I love the work and the people and they are very flexible. I can usually get full time lines. The other company usually has no work and I really despise the work and the QA. Would appreciate feedback from anyone using M-Modal, especially Webmedx Enterprise MTs. Dreading the conversion and wondering if my fears are well founded. I'm pretty fast straight typing but rarely get more than 50 lines more an hour with current VR. Seems all it takes is just one lousy report to negate the lines made on the decent reports. Afraid it's just going to be worse with M-Modal and the whole drop-down heading thing. Anyone have any encouragement to offer? ...

I just started working 3 days ago and have been doing very well with QA (100%) until yesterday. It seems now I am getting more scores in the high 90s, but I really feel that some of them are error of the QA.
I got dinged for this:
Blood sugars were in the 150-250 range. Most of them, though, were around 200.
QA took out the commas around "though." Would you do that??? I figure "though" is nonessential and is extra info, hence the comma.
Please let me know your thoughts. I have been noticing ...
