"Hello Computer" as Mr. Scott picks up the mouse and tries to talk to the computer. I love Star Trek! It certainly has lived long and prospered.
Last summer a woman on FB had a meeting with Joint Commission. They had no idea we still exist. Many doctors think the VR program is all there is, that it just turns out perfect reports. Below is the link after her meeting took place.

This message and recipient will self destruct in 1 second...sorry, computer error.
I need to know what I need to be able to transcribe for a doctor who is 50 miiles away from where I live. I need to dial into the office computer from my home and type directly into their system. What Do I need. Thanks for your help ...
I quit Nuance over a year ago and just recently sent computer back (their delay, not mine). I'm supposed to get computer deposit money back but haven't yet. Does anyone know the correct phone number to contact regarding following up on this? Is it Human Resources? Only numbers I have are old TM and HR number from 2011. Thanks. ...
Hi,
I am a MT and would like to setup Telephone/voice recroding(must save as wav file). Is there anyone who can help me?. What is the cheapest way to do this? Should I set up Vonage phone for this?
Also, it should allow to receive multiple calls from my client.
Thank You,
George ...
20 years ago when the DRG's hit the hospitals, one was complaing to the other... "they treat doctors like a bunch of old dogs now". Well, that's how MTs are being treated now. Why on God's green earth do the MT services require all MT's to work at least one weekend day every week (Friday's and Monday's don't count). Every ad I see on the Job Seeker board requires weekends. Are they sadistic or something. Why do we put u ...
I am tired and frustrated from applying and sending out resumes only to be ignored. It is like a game with them, I think. MedGarde even has an interview which has absolutely nothing to do with your skills or qualifications. In fact it seems like psychological testing to see if you are mentally competent or something like that. I swear I feel like a mouse that is being tested and run through a maze to see how well you perform, but even mice will get the prize or food event ...
I am considering requesting this pay which (depending on the state) considers us to be on-call and must be paid for part of our shift if no work.
I have had it up to here with Nuance and running out of work, adding more and more accounts and STILL no work. Got a second job and STILL being screwed by Nuance in the sense that I cannot rely on my first job (income wise), because when there is enough work they manage to screw my cpl with their lovely FIESA, then as soon as I have no errors the work ...
I read that Medmedx supplies computers but you can only have Cable or DSL connection.
I live in an area where I cannot get cable or DSL. I have a wireless connection.
My question is, do they allow you to use our own computers?
Thanks for your time and have a great day? ...
The reason I ask this question is for my internet I have a USB modem. Do the computers supplied by Q have any extra USB ports so I can plug my Verizon in there?
Thanks! ...
I am in the process of transitioning jobs and will be going from a company-provided computer to my own. Any suggestions on what software programs are needed, virus protection, word expanders, line counting, and hardware like foot pedal? The hospital I am looking into will be using Microsoft Word. Any comments on whether this is a good program or not to transcribe on? Any tips? I have been with the same company for 15 years, so have been out of the loop and need ...

react if we went in their offices and talked so fast that they couldn't understand what we said, if we ate during our visit, or yawned and continued talking? I'm just going to wager a guess that they wouldn't appreciate it very much. Sometimes, I think it would be fun to try just to see their reactions. There are some that I transcribe that if I ever got the chance to do that I would. Have an ESL right now that's talking way too fast. Do they not ...
Rambles on, makes no sense throughout the dictation at all, does not make complete sentences, dictates on a patient in the WRONG chart constantly, follows no format, which is required by YOU, cuts himself off but yet when you can understand him, he has a "bright" moment and makes sense is an absolute joy to transcribe???? Oh, and did I mention that he only dictates every third day even though he sees patients on a daily basis????
Mini-vent over, back to the confusion ...

doesn't actually pause the recording. And saying "Unpause" doesn't make it start again. This isn't even the same doctor that calls me "computer." "Computer go back to the HPI and..." Beam me up!! ...
An account manager sent out an email suggesting that we monitor our emails on our weekend days off, and then log on to help if requested. Am I the only one who expects to not check emails or work during my one weekend day off? Even though I have a required schedule, should I expect to work 7 days a week in this industry, including on my days off? Am I asking too much to be allowed to not turn on my computer on my day off, or to be allowed to go out without worry about rushing home to check em ...
Does anyone have experience with being on call, whether you have to be paid for on-call time? My husband works a job in maintenance and they just recently cut their hours back to 32 hours per week, having them off on Fridays. They told them that if an "emergency" occured on their off day that they would be called in. Well, today, husband went out of town to visit his mom and his boss called and told him to go to a work order that needed to be done and he told her he was out of ...
asking me why I haven't been working, this is nearly a month after the work vanished. I told her in my most p---sed off voice that there has been no work, no answers to emails, no calls, and no explaination as to anything, and they finally figured out how to call me after a month??!! She said something like "oh, work has been slow" and I said not slow, NO WORK (yelling at this point) and Imedx should be ashamed of themselves and I hope one day she finds herself in the sam ...
She had an ACE call this morning for severe hypoglycemic reaction. Is it Ace, ace, or ACE? I can't find any documentation of this but it is spoken clearly. ...
I got in trouble today because I put a wrong patient. The doctor dictated a billing number, name, and MRN. The MRN was had a different patient, but the billing number and the patient name matched the ADT screen. Not to mention the fact that he kept using "she" in the dictation and the MRN number matched a "he". So logically one would just think he had the wrong MRN and I didn't want another QA submission so I sent it through with the correct billing number, name, and ...
