How to Access Samples - NoNo

Posted: Dec 09, 2010

DocQmanage: When you log onto DQM, add "dep" (no quotes) behind your ATP number. That will take you into a DQM area where you can search the MedQuist database by dictator, account, and the area from which you want to draw a sample, e.g., operative report or clinic (numerous specialities). The first time you use this area of DQM with the dep marker, you must have called customer support to allow access. Hasn't your CCM told you about this or is it reseved for certain MT levels?

In reply to the samples question awhile back.  It seems important for general knowledge to make current.

Once some of these posters figure out how to look up reports, they then whine about the extra time it takes. You can't help them. They don't want to be helped, they want to complain about the evil Q. They are not interested in getting better at the job, they want to turn the clock back and send every report to a smiling, happy QA person who will gladly fill in every blank that they don't have "time" to research.

No one is saying using look up is bad. (sm) - ververyoldMQMT

For crying out loud, some of you are on here to stomp every loyal MTer who has the audacity to complain. By the way, i don't think anyone is decrying the use of look up; what is the complaint (IMHO) is the fact we are being micromanaged to demise and told to use the features for FTR, but yet some are being reprimanded for not being on keyboard!!!!!!!!! This is the complaint. I LOVE the opportunity to use the lookup. I DO NOT love that we are being docked for doing a QUALITY job. Yeah, your "name" says it all.... Pushing the Pedal (like pushing the button) to escalate threatened and work weary MQers. I am loyal. Do not trash me. some of you posters on here are totally shameful.

by the way, I am not the OP on this. (nm) - ververyoldMQMTer

It is not that helpful - anon

I look up the old reports a lot. Most of the time, they are not real helpful. Sometimes there are NO samples for a doctor (which I think is crazy) and a lot of times the reports look like swiss cheese - so many blanks. I have some dictators who absolutely cannot be understood by anybody - how are they allowed to get away with reports that make no sense due to numerous blanks?

Well, I use it all the time and find it very helpful. - JAZ

It has saved many a report from having blanks for me, mainly for patient medications and dictator PE and ROS that many dictators fly through. If you look at more than just one report for a particular dictator, at some point someone gets what they are saying. It may be time consuming, but worth it to me not to send blanks that QA and, more importantly, the client may be able to fill in by using the same tool. I agree that at times there are no useful reports for a particular dictator/patient, but most of the time I find what I need.

The productivity emails we are getting are an FYI thing and we can choose whether or not we want to use it for our benefit, not mandatory. They have been monitoring this information for years anyway, and the only thing new about it is that they are now sharing this information with us (another tool).

Go ahead and slam away, does not change the facts.

I agree - anon

that this COULD be helpful and in some cases it has actually helped me - what few times I find any sample reports. I think I have the worst of the worst accounts and at least half the time when I try to look up reports, there are none - and nothing in the repository. So not only do not have any help from samples, but I have wasted my time trying to look up the samples. I don't understand why every dictator can't have AT LEAST 1 sample report in the repository - how hard could that be?
I don't know why they just can't let us - JAZ

have access to all past reports like they used to do years ago. When you think about it, using HIPAA as an excuse is really a joke since our records are transcribed in other countries, not to mention in private homes in our own country, and so anyone can have access to those records, but not us. On my accounts, patient SS number is on every report in the ADT...how "secure" is that? In my opinion, this makes HIPAA rules and regulations good on paper only.

Samples
Aug 26, 2010

I have been doing some new accounts recently and I have requested some sample reports, which I have not gotten.   Recently on a QA report I was told "be careful - you are missing some things" .   I asked for examples and I was told copies were not made.   Is this normal?  I am new with nationals.  I know I do make mistakes.  But realisitically how can I improve if I am unable to view reports and cannot view my mistakes?  ...

How Do You Get Samples?
Dec 08, 2010

How do you go about getting samples of dictations?  There is nothing in the repository and no sample reports by other MTs when I go through Documanage.  These are the worse dictators in the world.  I type a few words, leave a blank, etc.  When I send them to QA (and get docked) they manage to fill in a couple of blanks and that's it.  I have requested samples from my QC and have received no samples or even a response from her.  Who else can I ask?  I belie ...

Report Samples
Jan 30, 2010

How difficult is it to input samples in our repository?  What good does it do us when so many docs don't have anything in it to view?  I'm so sick and tired of getting mumbling dictators without any report samples to view.  At least with a sample, you have something to compare the mumbling too that might make it easier to understand.  What else is QATL doing these days besides audits?  Shouldn't that be their responsibility to ensure there are samples ...

New Account And A Lot Of Dictators Don't Have Samples Yet...
Jan 14, 2012

Oh I will be so glad when they get all the hard dictator's samples up.  Some of those ESL ones you can't make out a lot and when you don't have a sample to go by it is very difficult.  They are working steadily on getting more and more up though so I can't complain, but I would have to get the ones who don't have samples up yet tonight.  Nothing to do but leave blanks and send it to QA.  ...

Access To Old Reports
Mar 05, 2010

I got an email yesterday stating that we would have access to old reports the way that QA does so we can look back to a specific patient's history to find something that might help us fill in blanks.   This is supposed to be in effect today. So I followed the instructions I got in the email, but I just can't figure out what it means.  I seems like it is just to print out instructions on how to do this, but I can't seem to find where we actually pull this informatio ...

Still Cannot Access Old Reports.

Can I Access Markers In ExpressScribe?
May 08, 2012

When a doctor uses markers at the beginning of each patient's dication in a recording, how can I access those in Express Scribe when listening to it? There was no reply to the second query. I am currently using the free dl version of ExpressScribe but would glady upgrade to the $30 version if I was sure I could access the markers. Looking For Threat About 3-T And Computer Access-sm
Oct 16, 2012

Can someone direct me to the thread talking about Turnaround Time Transcription and the discussion about their having access to your computer without your permission.  I am trying to determine if this is true or not.  Someone had posted that they need your permission first before they could access your computer which I am hoping is true.  Does anyone else have a fear of their privacy being invaded as a home-based MT?  Has anyone actually had a bad experience in that regard? & ...

Survey - Do You Have Access To Chart?
Apr 28, 2014

I'm wondering how many MTs out there have access to patient charts.  As of now, I do and it's very helpful in looking up vitals, lab values, and doctors' names that the dictator invariably mumbles.  The company I work for will soon remove that access to MTs, and I'm wondering if this is a new HIPAA requirement or if we are moving to a platform that simply does not support it.  They are saying that it is because of HIPAA, but I think it's ridiculous to take ...
