Access to old reports - Cautious

Posted: Mar 05, 2010

I got an email yesterday stating that we would have access to old reports the way that QA does so we can look back to a specific patient's history to find something that might help us fill in blanks.   This is supposed to be in effect today.

So I followed the instructions I got in the email, but I just can't figure out what it means.  I seems like it is just to print out instructions on how to do this, but I can't seem to find where we actually pull this information.  Anyone know?

Why bother with that - Anon

I have absolutely NO INTENTION of wasting my time searchig for old reports. First you have to find them, and then read them to find a missing piece of info. We are notpaid for that wasted time - only for the lines we transcribe.

Just one more way to cut our income.

You make me feel hopeless for this career. Having access to old - reports is a great advantage. nm

That is one of the reasons I quit. We were being cheated left and right on the time we spent reading e-mails, client profiles, the BOS, everything! Why should I read company e-mail on MY TIME so that I could spend my work hours transcribing? I wasn't a salaried employee. I practically cost them nothing. I didn't get benefits. I got a cheap computer to use, but I was strapped paying the internet bill. To me, it means we were being taken advantage of. I was a loyal, dependable, conscientious, and experienced employee who quietly did my work without fuss, hardly ever bothered my supervisors until all these audits started which didn't amount to a hill of beans. You'd think that with my experience QA/ME would hear something I couldn't? QA left a lot of my blanks unanswered also. I just got totally frustrated with all of MQ's garbage. I have always been reading my e-mail sporadically because if they said to do something like load antivirus crap or do a tutorial, I'd wait a little while until they got all the kinks out. Why can't THEY do anything the "first time right?" How dare they ask that of their transcriptionists! The nerve of them. I quit just before this FTR was introduced. This definitely would have had me spitting nails. I do honestly believe this is constructive termination. CBay IS pushing the Americans out of the business and they're in bed with AHDI, and we'll get no support from them to keep the jobs in the U.S.

I will use any tool I can - Just passing through

so I don't have to spend time researching the next time or leave blanks again for the same dictator who rushes through PE at warp speed. It is especially useful with operative reports I am unfamiliar with. I used this feature when we had access to it in the past and cut my QA submissions by more then half...more than made up for the time initially spent to get the information.

Thanks for saying it. - C

I feel this way also. I resent not being compensated for my time.

But did you see the office people acting out a skit in a home video on our dime? That's what is so important to them. Not us peons who support their jobs.

Not 100% sure, but I was told... - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I was told that we can only look up reports from the dictator that we are on at the time... Lets say you are typing for a Dr. Doctor, then we can only look up Dr. Doctor's reports.

It does not look up per patient name.

I could be wrong, as this place usual gives FIRST TIME WRONG information.

Where the heck is the DQM main menu? - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
It says to go to the DQM main menu? Where is that? Is that the thing you get when you hit F5 or F9? They give very clear intsructions after you get to the menu, but why can't they just say step-by-step get there in the first place??

I agree - where is the DQM main menu? NM - anon

I tried hitting F9, that brings up the links on the left that you can choose from. Don't know if this is the menu, there is no "search" option on my screen. Anyone else?
I get the same as you but I'm sure you guessed that. LOL - Angelina
[ In Reply To ..]
I thought this option would have a chance at least of helping us figure things out to leave less blanks (I know, just call me Pollyanna), but I've pretty much given up on any of these changes making sense, much less helping us MTs.

I do not see any way to search for anything - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
The menu I see on the left says client profile search, my timesheets, my profile, statistics, etc. How do you search for a dictator or a patient??? or even a backlog?

DQM main menu, ha ha - different every time i pull it up

[ In Reply To ..]
Sometimes I F5 or F9 and get the profile right away, other times I have to go thru a bunch of "shortcuts" lol to get to the profile, and then the Repository is not there. I was a CTL and from contact with the people in my BOB everybody's capability to access this was different, who knows why, people contacting Support with no permanent solution.

Directions on how to access old reports - how I do it

[ In Reply To ..]
Go to the backlog in DQM. Instead of hitting "status," hit "search."

To search by dictator, enter in:

Search type: Dictator
Dictator: Plus Date Range
Date type: Delivered
Client Facility Name: (name of the facility you work for)
Dictator name: (last name of dictator)
Date delivered: This month
(or last month, doesn't matter)

press the "search" button. Reports will come up, click on one

To search by patient:
Search type: Subject
Subject: Name
Subject Last name: (patient's last name)
Subject first name: (patient's first name)

How do you go to the Backlog ???NM - anon

Can you access the backlog? - how I do it

[ In Reply To ..]
If you can't see the backlog, contact your supervisor or call tech. After you can see the backlog, to the left under "status" that you click to see the backlog is "search" and that is where you find old reports.

That's how mine is set up anyhow.
I don't know - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I have no idea how to see the backlog or where it is. Can somebody please explain?
Help - how I do it
[ In Reply To ..]
to log into DQM backlog you put in your user name (6 digits or add one or two zeros to make 6 digits) and the word dep.

ex: 006482dep
ex: 342564dep

put in your password

put in your company number

That should give you the backlog.

If you get nothing, no access, does not recognize, call tech. They might tell you to contact your supervisor or they might fix it for you, give you a new password, and have it ready to go in 30 seconds.

I'd call tech first if I were you if the above doesn't work before going to CCM as that takes longer.

DocQM is cumbersome and time consuming for this purpose. (In the past, have worked on 2 other systems for other previous companies, and accessing old reports--patients and by dictators-- took only 1 keystroke to see the list, then highlighting the appropriate report, and then clicking on it---that's all--easy as pie. It is just ridiculous to expect MTs to monkey around with DocQmanage to see past reports. Access to past reports is a big help, and with some of the garbage dictators MQ has to offer, this process should be made simpler.
I agree, should be fast - movingon
[ In Reply To ..]
Any tool they give us needs to be quick to be of any help. We don't have enough time to maneuver through anything, the way our production has already been hurt by so many "improvements." If we were on salary, fine. They need somebody who is actually on production pay to help them come up with these "great" tools.

Mine has been MIA since the conversion into one division per region, i.e., south, north, etc. I did contact my CCM and got a nice little reply from the person above her that said they didn't know if we were ever going to get that feature back or not, but for now it was a no. But of course that was last week! And we all know there are constant changes in this place and nothing is ever on sync. Maddening!

Says you cannot do it unless you are working - and then only

How To Access Samples
Dec 09, 2010

DocQmanage: When you log onto DQM, add "dep" (no quotes) behind your ATP number. That will take you into a DQM area where you can search the MedQuist database by dictator, account, and the area from which you want to draw a sample, e.g., operative report or clinic (numerous specialities). The first time you use this area of DQM with the dep marker, you must have called customer support to allow access. Hasn't your CCM told you about this or is it reseved for certain MT levels? Apr 28, 2014

I'm wondering how many MTs out there have access to patient charts.  As of now, I do and it's very helpful in looking up vitals, lab values, and doctors' names that the dictator invariably mumbles.  The company I work for will soon remove that access to MTs, and I'm wondering if this is a new HIPAA requirement or if we are moving to a platform that simply does not support it.  They are saying that it is because of HIPAA, but I think it's ridiculous to take ...
