Help please - I switched to that new Google browser

I use a computer provided by Nuance. Does anyone know if you can update your browser to IE 8 or 9 . There is a message on the Community Page for 2 links to stop the IE8 or 9 from updating. If we can't use IE8 or 9, can you update your browser to a different one and it still not affect the Enterprise system? Thanks. ...
