Does anyone else hate the new way Google is set up - maddening

I've been trying to get used to it for awhile now but I just hate it. It's got a column to the left with the same buttons on the top. I just absolutely hate the new way they have it set up with all my search results being pushed to the middle of my screen. I'm looking for a different search engine now. I don't care for dogpile. I got onto Bling (?) once but it's looks like google. When something works why can't they leave things alone.

Okay that was my rant of the day - I feel better now. Will feel even better when I find something different to use than google.

start typing in a search, look to the far right- click on instant search is on, and turn it off :)

I just tried turning it off on mine as well but it still pops up the string of suggestions in the middle of the screen. I even closed out of Google and then opened back up and it still does it. Very frustrating!

That really helped out part of my frustration. Thank you sooo much. However, what I hate is the column to the left where the name Google is and then underneath it lists Videos, maps, books, etc. If I could just get rid of that column and have it back to the way it used to be I'd be happy. Until them I am using WebCrawler, which is Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Ask altogether. So far it's working out okay, but just taking some time to get used to.

Thanks for your suggestion though. Every once in awhile I have to use google and that helped a lot.

I kept wondering why google was working different and I didn't like it either. Thanks for the tips on how to get it back to what I wanted.

YES, YES, YES, YES, can't say it enough YES!!!! I don't keep my browser up and clear my history, etc. when I close so I have to click the option to turn it off EVERY time. Horrible feature.

Is is just me (virus, perhaps?), or has anyone else noted a sudden change in the way Google searches for things lately? In the past week or so, when I type in something to look up with Google, I keep getting "redirected" to another search page. Worse, it's usually a page that doesn't have clear search options. Okay, a funny thing happened. I've lost my white Google field at the top of my screen. My Google toolbar IS enabled. I have disabled it, then re-enabled it just to see what would happen and I still have no Google search option at the top of my screen. You type in the name of a drug (generic or brand name) and the first result that comes down is from www.nlm.nih.gov and it looks different than the rest of the links. I have downloaded Google Chrome. I have used the Google quick search box on my former computer. I am having trouble locating this for my new computer. What you do is tap the control keep twice, and a very small search box appears on the middle of your screen so you don't have to access anything with the mouse.
