Happy about new benefits - and surprised

Signed in to renew benefits this weekend and to my surprise noticed that STD and LTD are now provided to us at no cost, plus my dental premium went down drastically. I received an email about benefit enhancements a while back, but didn't really pay attention to it, so I was pleasantly surprised at what it turned out to be. I don't know anything about the health insurance because I have that through my spouse, but am super happy about something good for a change! Plus, the 401K matching starts back in July. I'm not trying to annoy anyone, but I wanted to post something positive! Hope everybody has a great week.

I just wanted to say that I was pleasantly surprised too. My deduction for medical insurance for my family has gone down $160 a month and with better benefits,so I'm very happy about that. I hope their review of our compensation is a pleasant surprise, too. Thanks for your posting, it's nice to see something positive.

I was on the website also. I have never had benefits with MQ(MM). CAn we sign up just for dental or eye vision without the health benefits or do we have to have the health benefits in order to have dental and eye? Thanks for any help into this. I guess I should call the benefits line.

that pays 50% of your salary. You have to buy up for a higher amount. Also, yes you can have dental and vision without the medical benefits. I am superduper happy about having copays again. I can finally get some x-rays and an ultrasound done. woohoo!

I feel silly for even asking now. I googled it and saw what it meant. Thanks for replying though. I was on the website over the weekend and I think I will give them a call too. I just do not know if I can even afford the dental with my sad paycheck. I am lucky enough though to have family that helps me out at times so maybe I can swing it.

off the medical insurance because we needed to be able to buy groceries. He is not working and hasn't been approved for disability yet (such a long process sometimes). The dental is much cheaper this time though. I was paying twice as much this past year or two. At least for the moment, we are getting a little break. But, things can change in the blink of an eye. I like working for MModal (MQ). There have been some tough times, but that goes along with any job nowadays. Good luck!

the last few years have been tough! I hope your husband gets approved. Its sad that we have to make choices like whether to buy groceries or have insurance.

You have noooo idea how happy I am!!! I can actually take my kids to the doctor again. That HRA policy we are on right now until June 30th is HORRIBLE!!! I have been stressing for a whole year. I LOVE COPAYS!!!

Recently I had to go for lab tests and to different specialists, imaging center, etc., and under the plan we now have I owe just under $3,000.00 to labs, doctors, imaging center which I am slowly paying off. It will be so much better with this new plan.

I was happy to see the prices too until I looked at the - list of providers and there are none in my area/st

sure you check to see if your providers or any local are covered in the healthcare before making your final decision. Prices were good for those who will have a good provider network though.

Okay. Let's face it everybody, we don't qualify for the benefits because we are not being laid off. We are not being laid off because MQ hasn't said anything about laying us off. Well, at my company, if there is a low volume of work and you cannot meet your line count you are placed on part-time status and cannot regain full-time status until you have met your commitment for 90 days. I'm a newer employee of 4 months and STILL trying to meet my full time status by making $900 a pay period. I really don't want to work more than 40 hours a week to do this. As June is approaching us, I suggest that anyone who has health benefits appeal to upper management (I emailed Vern and got a decent reply) to please consider better benefits. They way they are now, if you are a single parent with young children, this plan could be catostrophic in a way worse than if you had no benefits or job to speak of. It is nice, I suppose, for those able to participate in the 401K, and those who would gain from the benefits. There are paychecks where I have earned $8 and 9 an hour (I'm a tier 3) because of being jerked around on multiple unfamiliar accounts and crappy dictators.
