Getting docked for sending work to QA :( - mom2huskies

Why should we be docked for sending work to QA especially when there is an issue with poor audio quality, having a job that is incomplete or simply not being able to find the correct address even after we have spent time doing the propper research.

This is as ludicrous as it would be if the phone company decided to charge us extra to call 911.

for poor audio, not being able to find an address/Dr. name, or for incomplete dictations. I avoid QA at all costs. What's the facility going to do? They don't have a leg to stand on in my opinion to complain about it. I don't have any control over these things. The ball's in their court. If they want quality reports, they have to submit quality/complete dictation.

Three CEOs ago there was a letter stating that Medquist was going to be working with each client to work with their docs so as to justify the pay cuts for ASR. Even 3 CEOs ago MQ realized the docs need to be accountable, unfortunately neither ADHI nor MQ can actually make that happen, so until it does I just send do the best I can and Forget The Rest. Ha!

You don't have to get docked for those issues. You just send directly to the client. Why on earth would you send those to QA?

I have sent only like 3 jobs to QA. One was for a format issue on a new account, and the other 2 were for drugs that I could not find, but thought they would get (which they did).

Sound issues, incomplete reports, and addresses that cannot be found should go directly to the client.

So I wrote my CCM and she said we need to find a way to keep me from having to send to QA. Well I don't work that much so a major report can cause me to lose money. I am gone. Won't put up with this and I told her as much. No response back. I also wrote Clark and Maldonato (?) and my CCM was not happy that I did. Oh well who care's!

I NEVER send anything to QA. But, if you fail an audit and they have you on 100% QA for that, EVERYTHING goes to QA and that makes any monthly eval for QA, (keeping us in check to dock our pay) precarious.

They will do ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING to keep anyone from receiving your full, contracted pay, citing that since we did not submit in writing whether we would object to it.

I fight everything! document everything, record phone calls from anyone. I usually get left alone because they don't like to argue with me, BECAUSE I WON'T TAKE ANYMORE.

Have a look at your phone bill. There IS a charge every month for 911, whether you use it or not, just to maintain the system.

Does anyone know if it is an industry standard to begin penalizing an MT as soon as he/she comes off full QA on a new account for access QA submissions? The "First Time Right" policy is very unclear about when the dock in pay is supposed to start. When an MT starts a new platform AND a new account AND Speech Rec on that new platform all at once, isn't there usually a grace period of some kind? ...

Bad enough that they pay us less for ASR and now we may be getting paid less for sending through QA markers - how are we supposed to know when we are getting paid less and how can they pay us so many different rates? There is so much room for error and we will never know when we are getting ripped off! This whole thing sounds underhanded! ...

Really, there are a lot of times where something is just not interpretable, no sound, etc. That will be kind of nice that we don't have to send reports to QA for those types of things. That would be most of why I usually have to leave a QA marker. So really, when I think about it, it may not be as bad as everyone is thinking. (Trying to look at the bright side :-) Has anyone heard if MMEs will be docked if over 10%, then 5% later, of their reports are sent through to the client ...

I just cannot do this. I lose pay because I read specs and utilize QA trying to do a good job for the client. I sure hope some job offers come through soon. Just don't know how long mentally I can work for this company. It is as horrible a place as I had heard. You have to go to Utilipro and pay details to see your actual line rate. Just curious: Any MDI MTs not feeling like jumping through the hoops, printing out the paperwork for Transcend on THEIR deadline even though we don't become official employees until Feb 1? I'm just sayin....as a radiology MT in this company for 14 years...we have always sent radiology reports straight through to the docs to review and sign (because of turnaround time)....never knew they did QA until I got new accounts 2 years ago....and have had some pretty bad foreigners. I believe it is docs job to go over his reports anyway...he is legally responsible.. ...

Just wondering about the sending of blanks. I had a few blanks due to inaudible dictation. I know QA wouldn't be able to get it either, but when I uploaded the job the QA box was checked and I tried to uncheck it and it wouldn't let me. Are they kidding? Who is going to be sending ANYTHING to QA and take a chance of having their pay cut? Especially if it's the beginning of the work week! Yes, the clients will be getting blanks and I know they will be complaining. The Q keeps sending us e-mails telling us to cut down on QA submissions. Are they kidding? I feel that I flag a lot and send to QA a lot. I've been at this for about a year, do acute care, lots of ESL etc so I think it's a reasonably difficult account; but I ask myself do really experienced MTs, e.g. those at this for 5 years or 10 years or more, send so many jobs over to QA? I am working on sending back my equipment for MQ and just got the mailing slips in the mail today. The sheet that comes along with it tells me I'm not required to send back the foot pedal, speaker, keyboard or mouse. This makes no sense to me.....anyone been here before?? Okay, I got a ding today from my extremely sweet and helpful QATL. It seems I did not send as a cc a requesting physician dictated. I looked at the report and I did enter the requesting physician in the ADT and the body of the report. I thought if they did not specifically request a cc be sent, then you did not. Am I wrong? Old dog needs help. Also, I thought if the Req Physician was in the ADT it automatically received a carbon copy.. Hmmm.. ...
