Echo measurements - Roses

Posted: Mar 02, 2013

Could anyone who works for MModal tell me if in the echo reports there are headings for measurements such as sinus of Valsalva or aortic annulus?

That is according to your account. There are many - MSmt

accounts with echocardiograms. You will have to ask your QA or TSM.

depends on account doesn't it? - sm

although I don't think I'd make headings like that.

Well... - see msg

Not sure exactly what you're asking. Are you wondering if you should insert headings, or if there is a template for them?

In any case, it totally depends on the account. Use Ctrl + s while in a document and see if there are any mandatory headings for the report you are in. If so, insert that.

out of the ordinary measurements/values dictated (as these look to me) would seem to be formatted in addition to the common values dictated - post what you learn from TSM/QA

Are you typing an echocardiography report, or just a narrative of the findings? I don't get the question.

Cc Or ML When Used For Nonliquid Measurements?
Apr 21, 2010

Hi all,   Out of curiousity, we have some radiology doctors here who use the abbreviation 'cc' when referring to measurements that are non-liquid.  We usually change cc to mL but in that case it does not seem appropriate.  Has anyone else come across this and is this the proper abbreviation to use, or is there another one we should know about, or are the doctors using the incorrect terms?  Thanks for any input anyone out there can give me! Was/were In Regard To Liquid Measurements
Apr 21, 2011

So I'm not completely clear on this.  I know liquid measurements are grammatically to be treated singly--"20 mL of normal saline was given."  My question is whether this applies when it's not necessarily a liquid measurement but is currently applied to a liquid.  The sentence is "Then, 4000 units of heparin [was/were] given."  I want to pick 'were', mainly because 'was' sounds wrong and 'units' are not a solely liquid measurement like m ...

Echo Dictation
Jul 23, 2011

For those who work with echo dictation -  from what I understand, it's useful for straight transcribing, but does it work in VR? I'm thinking of investing in it, but can't understand how it would be useful in a VR program, which is where everything will be in just a few years.  I would think it wouldn't work in a non-Word program since you can't cut and paste, and even if it did, you'd be editing twice.  Thanks for any info! ...

How Many Lph Could One Achieve Performing "echo Transcription"?
Nov 22, 2011

hello, i am grateful to have obtained an IC position with a reputable MTSO which wants me to do "echo transcription" for them (part or all of the time).  i would be using Dragon most likely.  a long time ago on mtdaily.com i read about an MT achieving 250 lph doing echo transcription, but i thought i read here on mtstars.com (or elsewhere) that it's possible to achieve 400 lph--or more--once you "get in the groove"? could we start a conversation about this?  any and all i ...
